State Champs?

Adrian, MI – Tonight at 7 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant, when CMU and WMU renew the latest edition of the The Victory Cannon game, will the winner be truly the best D-1 college football team in the state of Michigan this year? With both Michigan and MSU struggling out of the gate this year, is it conceivable that either of the undefeated teams playing in Kelly-Shorts Stadium tonight could lay claim to that title in 2020?

The WMU Broncos come to Mt. Pleasant with the top-ranked offense in the MAC. Lead by QB Kaleb Eleby, RB Sean Tyler, and WR D’Wayne Eskridge, Coach Tim Lester will be confident in his team’s ability to put points on the board.

Equally as confident will be CMU Coach Jim McElwain, whose Chippewas boast the leading defense in the MAC. That defense is lead by S Alonzo McCoy, S Gage Kreski, and DE Troy Hairston.

Tonight in Mt. Pleasant, the irresistible force meets the immovable object. May the best team in Michigan win? My prediction is CMU 34, WMU 28.
