The Lenawee Christian Cougars girls basketball team won a Division 4 District Championship Friday night with a 49-38 victory over host Plymouth Christian. The Cougars led 22-15 after the first quarter and maintained that lead at halftime 29-22. They took a 10 point lead into the fourth quarter and sealed the win by going 12 of 16 at the free throw outscoring Plymouth by 9 points from the stripe for the game.
The Cougars were paced by Dani Salenbien who led all scorers with 18 points and Libby Miller, the D.S. Johnson and Associates Player of the Game, who had 13. With the win, the Cougars advance to Regional play Tuesday night at Lenawee Christian.
