
Adrian, MI – Here are the Lenawee County stories from Tuesday’s Inside the Cave Sports Update…

Brynn Davis scored a hat trick, Victoria Shotsky netted one, and the Lenawee Christian Cougars girls soccer team defeated Jackson Christian, 4-3.
Ava Feick had two assists and Zoe Cherfan had one helper for LCS, who trailed 3-2 at the half.
The Cougars outshot their opponent, 15-7. LCS is now 4-1-1 on the season, and will play Manchester at home on Thursday.

The Adrian Maples baseball team dropped two games to Pinckney Monday, 3-2 and 8-3.
In game 1, Landon DeKeyser hit a two-run homerun for Adrian. In game 2, Kasey Eichorn led the offense for the Maples going 3-3. Maddox Betz had an RBI double.
Adrian baseball will travel to Pinckney Wednesday.

The Tecumseh softball team swept Lincoln Monday night, 9-7 and 15-1.
Juozapaitis had three hits in four at bats with three RBI’s in game one. Eldred was two for five with three RBI’s.
Nadeau was four for four with 5 RBI’s in game two. Fulton pitched five innings of one run ball…with six strikeouts.

The Siena Heights baseball team dropped two games to Madonna in WHAC action… 8-2 and 9-1.
In game one, Zander Zeiter homered for SHU. In game two, Braxton Mustiful was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.

The Adrian College men’s tennis team took on Hope College on Monday afternoon, dropping the MIAA contest, 7-0. The Bulldogs will travel to Calvin University on Wednesday at 4PM.

The Adrian College women’s tennis team hosted Hope College, and lost 7-0 on Monday. The Bulldogs return to action today, traveling to Calvin University at 4pm.

The Adrian College women’s golf team competed in a two-day tournament hosted by Wittenberg University…finishing in third place.
Rachel Fay led the way for the Bulldogs as she tied for third in the field, shooting an 80 and 75.
The two-day tournament in Ohio marked the final tune-up before the MIAA Spring Finale scheduled for April 24th and 25th at the Legacy Golf Course in Ottawa Lake.

The Adrian College eSports team recently captured a championship in Overwatch.
Adrian finished the regular season with a 5-2 record in Overwatch to earn a spot in the eight-team ECAC postseason bracket.
In the quarterfinals, the Bulldogs edged University of South Carolina Upstate, 3-2, before defeating Penn State Beaver, 3-1, in the semifinals.
Adrian then closed out its postseason run with a 4-2 win over Milwaukee Area Technical College in the championship match.
The title came in the ECAC Group C Division. Adrian College eSports will return to competition in the fall.

The Adrian College women’s rugby team hit the road to Frostburg State University for the Frostburg 7’s tournament, where the Bulldogs went 1-2 on the day.
The Bulldogs fell to Frostburg State 22-17 in match one and Mount St. Mary’s 22-10 in match 2, before defeating Navy 24-15 in their final match.
Madisyn McDonald and Jersey Wilson led the Bulldogs offense with three tries.
This was the final tournament for this Adrian College women’s rugby squad this season, as the Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 18-11.

Two Adrian College athletes were named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Athletes of the Week, Nic Bruder of baseball and Avery Clark of softball.
Bruder helped lead the Bulldogs to a 4–0 week, highlighted by a 13–1 win over Albion and a series sweep of Trine. In 17 at-bats, Bruder recorded six runs, nine hits, three RBIs, four doubles, two walks, two stolen bases, and a sacrifice fly.
Clark delivered a complete-game shutout in a 1–0 win over Albion, striking out nine batters, including two looking, while allowing just four hits across seven innings. She also made a relief appearance in the second game against the Brits, recording one strikeout in one inning while allowing just one hit and no runs.

96.5 The Cave will broadcast the Adrian College softball doubleheader against MIAA foe Kalamazoo College today.
Ian Wendt will have the play-by-play, with the first pitch scheduled for 3pm at the Adrian College softball field.
