Tecumseh, MI – Three Lenawee County girls basketball teams were in action Wednesday in Regional Championship action. Tecumseh and Morenci will advanced to the quarterfinal round, while Blissfield’s season came to a close.

It was a battle of the top two ranked girls basketball teams in Division 2 in Tecumseh Wednesday night. The regional championship game featured the Tecumseh Indians (24-1 overall, 10-0 SEC White) and Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard (24-2 overall, 8-0 Catholic High School League – Central East). Tecumseh will play in a quarterfinal game against Goodrich (23-3 overall, 10-0 Flint Metro League – Stars) on Tuesday, March 18th at Northville High School. Tip off is scheduled for 7pm.

Morenci Defense Locks Down Allen Park Inner City Baptist to Win Regional Title…

The Morenci Bulldogs girls basketball team (24-1 overall, 11-1 Tri-County Conference) secured a 21-point regional final win over Allen Park Inner City Baptist in Division 4 Wednesday night, 45-23. Emersyn Bachelder led Morenci with 21 points, Alyssa Gibbs had 10 points and 8 rebounds, with Evelyn Joughin chipped in 7 points and 4 rebounds.

Morenci will match-up with Genesee Christian (23-2 overall, independent) in a quarterfinal game on Tuesday, March 18th at St. Clair County Community College Fieldhouse in Port Huron. Tip off at 7pm.

Blissfield’s Season Ends in Tight Regional Final Loss to Ypsilanti Arbor Prep…

The Blissfield Royals saw their impressive season come to a close Wednesday, dropping a tight defensive battle with Ypsilanti Arbor Prep (14-12 overall, independent), 32-28. Leigh Wyman led Blissfield in scoring with 9. Annie Scharer had 8 points, and Peyton Tennant contributed 7. The Royals season ended with a District Championship, a Lenawee County Athletic Association Championship, a 22-3 overall record, and a 14-0 mark in the LCAA.
