Adrian, MI – All three Lenawee County girls basketball teams were victorious in their regional semifinal games last night, and will advance to the regional final Wednesday. The lone boys team from Lenawee County left in the MHSAA basketball tournament, Lenawee Christian, will be in action tonight in the Division 4 quarterfinal round.
Blissfield Gets Past Jonesville on the Road…
The Blissfield Royals (22-2 overall, 14-0 LCAA) postseason run will continue on into Wednesday thanks to a 39-34 regional semifinal win Monday night over Jonesville. Peyton Tennant and Annie Sharer led Blissfield in scoring with 12. Tennant added 11 rebounds to earn a double-double. Leigh Wyman had 10 points and 7 assists for the Royals.
Blissfield will face Ypsilanti Arbor Prep (13-12 Overall, Independent) in regional final play at 7pm Wednesday. The game will take place at Jonesville High School.
Morenci Clamps Down on Whitmore Lake to Advance to Regional Final…
The Morenci Bulldogs (23-1 Overall, 11-1 Tri-County Conference) took down Whitmore Lake 38-19 Wednesday to improve to 23-1 on the season.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Emersyn Bachelder with 15 points. Alyssa Gibbs contributed 10 points and 9 rebounds. Colbie Ekins added 6 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocks. Evelyn Joughin pitched in with 5 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists.
Morenci will play at 7pm in Whitmore Lake against Allen Park Inter-City Baptist (15-10 Overall, 6-4 Michigan Independent Athletic Conference- Blue) for a regional championship.
