Adrian, MI – Siena Heights women’s and men’s basketball teams both return home for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference doubleheader against Cornerstone University.
The women’s team (9-7, 6-2 WHAC) is fresh off a 66-63 win on the road against Concordia University Wednesday evening, extending their winning streak to three games. Brooke Rebman led the Saints in scoring with 15 points. Kanyla Tyler added 13 points, including the go-ahead bucket.
Saturday’s game could have an impact on the WHAC postseason tournament seeding. Currently, Cornerstone is tied with Indiana Tech at the top of the conference standings with a 7-1 record. Siena Heights is at 6-2 in the WHAC, tied with Aquinas in the third position.
The men’s team (5-11, 2-6 WHAC) dropped a close one to the Cardinals Wednesday night, 65-61. George Kalatzis was the standout Saints, leading Siena in scoring, recording a season-high 29 points, going 11-12 from the floor and 5-6 from behind the three-point line.
Looking at the WHAC standings on the men’s side, Cornerstone is alone in fourth position with a 5-3 record. SHU is currently 12th place in the standings, and will be fighting for a WHAC tournament berth in the coming weeks.
