Adrian, MI – The Siena Heights University basketball teams swept cross-town rival Adrian College on the Bulldogs’ home court Tuesday night. The women’s team jumped to a large lead, and held on for a seven point win. The men’s team mounted a 15-point second half comeback to down the ‘Dawgs to keep the Milk Jug at SHU.

E’Anna Won led the Saints with 21 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks as the SHU women’s basketball team defeated Adrian College 57-50 on Tuesday night. Madison Vice put in 11 points and Kanyla Tyler had 10 points.
Kylie Skidmore led Adrian in scoring on Tuesday, collecting 15 points, along with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. She had help from Morgan Babb, who was a threatening presence in the key all night, registering 13 points, 5 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 steal. Aubrie Ickes and Anya Riley led the Bulldogs in boards, posting 7 each.
Siena Heights took a 22-7 lead through one quarter and never trailed during the final three periods. Won and Vice had eight points apiece in the opening quarter.
The host Bulldogs (1-5) pulled within three points early in the fourth quarter, but SHU hung on for the victory. Siena Heights (4-4) will return to action when it hosts the SHU Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The Adrian College women’s basketball squad returns to the court on December 4 at Kalamazoo College for the team’s first MIAA conference game. Tip off at 6:00 PM in Kalamazoo.
Saints Complete Comeback vs. Bulldogs to Retain Milk Jug…
The Siena Heights men’s basketball team completed a 15-point comeback to defeat Adrian College 71-66 on Tuesday.
Kobe Clark led the charge for the Saints with 21 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Also with a strong showing for the Saints was George Kalatzis with 13 points and nine rebounds. Nate Houston III also found himself in double figures with 14 points.
Sophomore Braylon Dickerson led the charge for the Bulldogs, delivering a team-high 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and a block. Senior Nick Seifert contributed 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, and a block.
SHU 3-4 (2-1) found themselves in a back-and-forth first half as they saw themselves trailing by just one point at halftime 29-28.
In the second half, Adrian College outscored SHU in the first 10:36, 29-15 to take the largest lead of the game 58-43.
The Saints ended up chipping away at the deficit as they got it back to single digits for good after Kobe Clark nailed a three-point shot to pull the Saints to within seven points at 63-56, with 4:59 remaining. SHU kept on battling as they eventually tied the game up at 65-65 in just a span of 2:18 after Nate Houston III made a two-point jump shot with 2:41 remaining.
Down the stretch, the Saints defense was stifling as they did not allow a field goal in the final 3:16 of game action. Shortly after Houston III tied the game, Jonas Tester was fouled and made both free throws to give the Saints their first lead at 67-65. This was the Saints’ first lead since 9:59 in the first half when they led 12-10. To seal it for the Saints was Brent Wiles at the free throw line as he made both shots to put the Saints up on top 71-66 to complete the comeback.
The Saints will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 30, with a 6:00 p.m. EST game vs non-conference opponent, Ohio Christian. The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday, December 4th where they will hit the road and face Wilmington College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM
