Lenawee County, MI – Two Lenawee County girls basketball teams celebrated Regional Championships Wednesday night… Tecumseh and Morenci.
The Indians outlasted defending state champion Lansing Catholic Central, 56-52. Tecumseh (22-4) will play Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard (26-0) in a Division 2 Quarterfinal on March 19th, 7pm at Ypsilanti Lincoln. Tecumseh’s Regional Championship was the team’s first since 1975. Makayla Schlorf paced Tecumseh with 25 points, and Alli Zajac scored 11.
The Bulldogs beat Allen Park Inter-City Baptist, 47-33. Morenci (21-3) will match up with Kingston (25-1) at West Bloomfield, 5pm March 19th in a Division 4 Quarterfinal game. Emersyn Bachelder led Morenci with 19 points, Addison Valentine scored 8 on the night. It was Morenci Girls Basketball’s 4th Regional Title.
