Lenawee County, MI – There are two Lenawee County high school basketball teams still in the MHSAA state tournament… Tecumseh and Morenci. The Indians and Bulldogs captured victories in the Regional Semifinal round Monday night to advance to the Regional Final Wednesday. The defending state runner-up from 2023, Blissfield, dropped their game Monday to Columbia Central, 49-44.
Tecumseh (21-4) defeated Parma Western, 61-48, and will now play Lansing Catholic Central (20-5) for a Regional Title. Morenci (20-3) won over fellow TCC opponent Summerfield, 40-16, and will play Allen Park Inter City Baptist (13-8) Wednesday.
Morenci’s Emersyn Bachelder (16) and Addyson Valentine (10) led their team in scoring. Tecumseh was paced by Alli Zajac (18) and Makayla Schlorf (17).
The Indians will tip-off at 7pm on Wednesday, with John Koehn broadcasting the game on 96.5 The Cave and 965thecave.com.
