Adrian, MI – It is arguably the busiest time of year for Lenawee County’s local sports station, 96.5fm The Cave…with high school and college athletics combining for an action-packed February and March. Here is the broadcast schedule for this week:
Monday, February 26th: Boys High School Basketball District First Round @ Parma Western High School- Tecumseh vs Brooklyn Columbia Central (5:30pm), then Parma Western vs Madison (approx. 7pm). John Koehn will be on the call for high school playoff games. *Note- there will be no Saints Sports Weekly this week, or next, due to High School Basketball Playoffs*
Tuesday, February 27th: Girls High School Basketball Regular Season Game features Lenawee Christian and Blissfield at 7pm on 96.5fm The Cave and Lenawee TV. John Koehn will be on the call.
Wednesday, February 28th: Boys High School Basketball District Semifinal @ Parma Western High School- Adrian vs Brooklyn Columbia Central/Tecumseh winner (5:30pm), then Onsted vs Parma Western/Tecumseh winner (approx. 7pm).
Siena Heights University Women’s Basketball will be in their conference tournament opener at home vs Lawrence Tech. at 7pm. Ian Wendt and Fred Smith will be on the call on 103.9fm WLEN.
Thursday, February 29th: The AC All-Access Show will hit the airwaves from Fricker’s in Adrian from 2-3pm on The Cave. The show highlights Adrian College athletes and coaches.
Friday, March 1st: Boys High School Basketball District Final @ Parma Western High School- The winners of the semifinal games Wednesday will square-off for a District Championship at 7pm up at Parma Western. If there is a Lenawee County team playing, The Cave will carry it. If not, we will be at a different location for a District Championship game.
Should SHU Women’s Basketball win Wednesday, 103.9fm WLEN will carry their Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Semifinal game at home vs TBD. Ian and Fred will be back on the mic.
Saturday, March 2nd: Adrian College Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Tournament Championship Games- The Men’s team will battle St. Norbert College for the Harris Cup at 2pm, and the Women’s team will square-off with St. Norbert College for the Slaats Cup at 7pm. Both games will be aired on 96.5fm The Cave, with Ian Wendt on the call.
