Adrian, MI – Adrian College Women’s and Men’s NCAA Ice Hockey Teams punched their tickets to their conference tournament championship games this Saturday after securing convincing wins over the weekend.
Four different Bulldogs scored two goals Saturday… Une Bjelland and Tia Lascelle for the women, and Zach Heintz and Ryan Pitoscia for the men. In the early contest, the men’s team shut-out Aurora University, 4-0…sending them to the conference tournament final against St. Norbert College.
Bulldog goalie Dershahn Stewart finished the afternoon with a shutout, stopping 19 shots. The Harris Cup final will be at 2pm at the Arrington Ice Arena, at Adrian College.
In the night-cap, the women’s team skated to a 6-1 victory, putting them in the conference tournament finals. Adrian will play St. Norbert College in the Slaats Cup Championship at 7pm on home ice… the Arrington Ice Arena.
Allie Hubenschmidt and Callie Wollschlager added to the tallies put on the board by Bjelland and Lascelle. Michaela O’Brien started in goal for Adrian, where she totaled nine saves.
