Adrian, MI – Siena Heights University Basketball teams split with Concordia University Saturday afternoon.
Lady Saints Roll to Senior Day Victory…
Kayla Hinton scored 23 points to lead the Siena Heights women’s basketball team to a 75-59 win on Senior Day over WHAC opponent Concordia on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.
Hinton also had five rebounds and three assists for the Saints (23-3, 18-2), won won their fifth straight game. Jakarri Alven added 10 points and six rebounds while E’Moni Guice-Finch put in 11 points.
SHU led 46-39 in the third quarter before it broke the game open with a 10-0 streak. Alven had four points in that stretch. The Saints held their lead in double-figures the rest of the game.
The Saints will return to action on Wednesday with a visit to WHAC opponent Lawrence Tech. With the win, the Saints have secured the #2 seed in the WHAC Postseason Tournament.
Siena Men Split Regular Season with Cardinals…
The Siena Heights men’s basketball team fall to WHAC opponent Concordia, 69-61, on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.
Delano Williams had 20 points and six rebounds while Jonas Tester and Colin Nutter contributed 16 and 14 points, respectively. Brent Wiles also had six rebounds.
SHU (10-16, 7-13) trailed 42-27 early in the second half before going on a 14-4 stretch. A layup by Nutter pulled the Saints within 44-40. After that, CUAA (8-18, 6-14) scored six straight points and Siena Heights was unable to close within four points after that.
The Saints will return to play on Wednesday with a 7:30 p.m. WHAC game at Lawrence Tech.
