Adrian, MI – The Adrian College Men’s ACHA Division 1 hockey team hosted the University of Toledo at the Arrington Ice Arena on Wednesday night in the GLCHL Playoffs Quarterfinal round, defeating the #8 seed Rockets by a score of 9-2.

The Bulldogs scored five unanswered goals in the opening frame thanks to a couple from Sebastian Smith and singles from Chad Noetzel, Sam Spaedt, and Cameron Armstrong. Adrian would add another in the second period, this time from Matthew DiCesare before Toledo would answer back with one of their own to bring the score to 6-1 after two periods of play.

Third period action saw Toledo add another, but it was the Bulldogs who tacked on a few more to solidify the commanding victory as Dylan Gajewski, Brodie Thornton, and Spaedt all added tallies. Goaltender Noah Decottignies stopped 22 of 24 shots faced, backstopping his team to a quarterfinal triumph.

The No. 2 MD1 Bulldogs await their next opponent as two other GLCHL quarterfinal games still need to be played on Thursday, February 15th. Regardless, the Bulldogs will play their semifinal game on Friday night at 5:30 PM at Farmington Hills Ice Arena in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Should they advance, the conference Championship game will then have a 5:30 PM puck drop on Saturday in Farmington Hills.
