Adrian, MI – Playoffs for winter sports are either here right now, or on the horizon. Several local teams, including high school wrestling and cheer are nearing the conclusion of their post-seasons. Some are in the middle of their playoff runs, including high school hockey…while others are starting-up next week, like girls basketball.
96.5fm The Cave will be broadcasting several games in the coming days…so let’s break it down:
Friday, February 25th: Siena Heights University Women’s Basketball WHAC Tournament Semi-Finals @ Rochester University. Pregame starts at 5:45pm, with the tip-off at 6pm. John Koehn and Fred Smith will be on the broadcast.
Saturday, February 26th: Adrian College Men’s Hockey NCHA Tournament Semi-Finals vs Trine University. Pregame at 6:45pm, puck-drop at 7pm. Ian Wendt will be on the call.
Monday, February 28th: MHSAA Playoffs start for Girls Basketball. The Cave will be at the Adrian HS district all week long. The District will begin with Adrian vs Hillsdale, and Onsted vs Milan. The Maples will play at 5:30pm, with the Wildcats to follow. John Koehn will be on the play-by-play for those match-ups.
Wednesday, March 2nd: The semi-finals in the Girls HS Basketball Districts will take place at Adrian High School. The winner of Adrian/Hillsdale will play Chelsea, and the winner of Onsted/Milan will play Tecumseh. Both contests will be on the air, starting at 5:30pm with John Koehn on the call.
Friday, March 4th: The final game of the district at AHS will conclude on Friday, with the championship game starting at 6pm. John will be on the broadcast. Also, (on 103.9fm WLEN) the Adrian College Women’s Hockey team will play their Semi-finals game (opponent TBD) at 7pm. Ian Wendt will be bringing you the play-by-play.
Saturday, March 5th: Should the AC Men’s Hockey team defeat TU in the Semi’s, the Bulldogs will play in the Harris Cup Championship Game at 7pm. Ian will also broadcast that game on The Cave.
