Lenawee County, MI – After a 2-1 Clinton win in the inaugural Lenawee Virtual Diamond League game, the second game was not as close, with the Madison Trojans taking down the Britton-Deerfield Patriots 7-0 on Wednesday, May 20th.
Madison got things going early with a 2-run home run by the third-baseman Bill Wilharms, giving them a quick 2-0 lead after the first inning. That is all starting pitcher Chris Dubbs would need to pick up the complete game shut out.
Barney Watson had ground-ruled double for Britton-Deerfield.
The win puts Madison at 1-0 on the young season (remember that each team only plays four regular season games)
The Patriots fall to 0-1 and will look to bounce back in their second game.

What is the LVDL?
With the absence of high school Spring sports in Michigan, many people have turned to the virtual world. The staff at 96.5fm, The Cave has created the Lenawee Virtual Diamond League (LVDL) featuring local high schools. Each game is seven innings long, plus extras if needed.
There is a 48 game regular season schedule, with each of the 12 teams playing 4 games each. There will be four games aired weekly on 96.5 The Cave: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays at 6pm… and Saturday afternoons at 2pm through the week of August 3rd. After the 12 week season, there will be playoffs to determine a champion.
Rosters include teachers, staff, administration, and others to represent Lenawee County High Schools on the diamond.
