It will be the Adrian Maples against the Columbia Central Golden Eagles for the Division 2 boys District Basketball Championship Friday night at 7pm at Onsted. The Maples earned their spot with a 55-39 victory over the Tecumseh Indians. The game turned in the 2nd quarter as the Maples went on a 10-0 run to lead 19-10 and led 24-15 at halftime. Adrian maintained a double digit lead for most of the 2nd half. Adrian was paced by the D.S. Johnson and Associates Player of the game, Joe Francis with 16 points. Hunter Comstock added 10. Tecumseh was led by the D.S.Johnson and Associates Player of the Game Alex Lawson with 13. Cormac Phelan also had 13.
Columbia Central used scoring balance to defeat the host Onsted Wildcats 55-48. Onsted led for most of the 1st half and 29-26 at halftime but their one two punch of Travis Hill and Dayton Henagen was not enough as Columbia gradually took control in the second half. Henagen led all scorers with 19 points and hill added 14. Aiden Adams led Columbia Central with 15 and Ethan Stewart added 14.
