It’s not every weekend that both the Adrian College Men’s and Women’s hockey teams are on the road playing the same opponent on the same days… but that is the case this weekend.
A dramatic weekend in Adrian saw the women’s team split their series with Lake Forest…winning 3-1 Saturday and losing 3-1 on Sunday. The Bulldogs are close to winning the NCHA regular season title, but their work is not done yet. They have two games with 5th place Concordia Wisconsin, a team looking to snap a 3 game losing streak. Adrian’s offense is lead by senior forward Nicole Guagliardo with 30 points on the season. Freshman forward Une Bjelland and senior defenseman Brianna Buchanan are tied for second on the team with 24 points. Guagliardo, Bjelland, and Buchanan are the current top three scorers in the NCHA.

The men’s team pulled closer to Lake Forest in the standings with a 4-1 win on Friday and a 5-4 overtime win on Saturday. After the sweep, the Bulldogs are just 2 points behind first place Lake Forest. With four games left in their regular season, AC is also going up against Concordia University-Wisconsin. Andrew Bellont, Sam Ruffin, and Dino Balsamo are leading the Bulldog offensive attack.
