Blissfield softball’s Brooklyn Fetzer doubled to bring in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning…walking off Morenci Monday, 5-4.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the first after Addyson Valentine’s RBI double.
Adison Robinson hit a sacrifice fly in the second inning to tie the game in the bottom of the second. The Royals took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth, scoring on a Bulldog error.
Morenci took the lead back in the top of the fifth after Evelyn Joughin had a 2-RBI single.
Grace Nieman singled down the right field line in the bottom of the inning, then Bloom doubled down the left field line, putting the Royals back in front, 4-3.
Rylee Frederick tripled down the right field line on an 0-2 count, which helped Morenci tie the game at four in the top of the seventh. Brooklyn Fetzer ended the game in the bottom of the 7th, with the Blissfield walk-off double.
Grace Nieman earned the win for Blissfield in the circle. She surrendered two hits and one run over two innings, striking out five and walking one. Addyson Valentine took the loss for Morenci. She went six and one-third innings, allowing five runs…two earned… on seven hits, striking out six and walking three.
Rylee Wilson and Tayler Ickler each threw two innings for the Royals. Evelyn Joughin led Morenci with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 3-for-4 on the day. Blissfield will be at Hudson today. The Bulldogs record is now 16-9.

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced the final Athletes of the Week for the 2025-26 season on Monday afternoon.
After winning the MIAA Baseball Tournament, the Adrian College baseball team swept the awards with Parker Faris winning Pitcher of the Week and Rolando Jimenez winning Position Player of the Week.
Jimenez finished the weekend with eight hits including five in the MIAA Tournament. He finished the week 8-for-14 resulting in a .571 batting average in four games. Jimenez scored twice while driving in two runs and hitting three doubles. In the field, Jimenez was perfect with 12 assists and two putouts.
Faris put the team on his back in the MIAA Tournament Winner’s Bracket game where Adrian defeated Kalamazoo 2-1. Faris pitched a complete game where he allowed one run on six hits with four strikeouts. His effort on the mound moved his record to 8-1 on the season with a 2.27 ERA.
