The 25th-ranked Adrian College baseball team opened their series with Albion College on Thursday afternoon, shutting out the Brittons 6-0. Adrian’s MIAA record is now 2-2.
The Bulldogs scored four runs in the third inning after taking advantage of four free bases with the bases loaded. Tecumseh grad Jake Burns was hit by a pitch before Casey Finn, Rolando Jimenez, and Jack Boike all drew walks.
Jimenez drove in a run on an RBI triple in the seventh inning. Brendan Willadsen then made it 6-0 with an RBI single.
Landon Kozlowski pitched seven innings on the mound where he allowed no runs on two hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. Parker Faris pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
The Bulldogs will have a quick turnaround and start the series with Calvin University this afternoon at home, playing two against the Knights beginning at 1pm.

The Tecumseh Girls Varsity Soccer team kicked off their season in style on Thursday evening, securing an 8-0 victory over Hillsdale.
Junior Leila Morris opened the season’s scoring just two minutes into the game, finding the back of the net off an assist from sophomore Mallory Blaker.
Senior captain Brook Stark netted back-to-back goals in the 4th and 10th minutes, both assisted by fellow senior captain Ava Snyder.
Senior Sam Belleau extended the lead in the 14th minute, assisted by junior Payton DeFer, who later capped off the night’s scoring with a Penalty Kick in the 70th minute.
Junior Riley Foss played, and started, her first organized soccer match since the 7th grade due to a long-term injury. She recorded a natural hat trick, scoring three consecutive unassisted goals at the 46th, 52nd, and 60th minutes, to break the game wide open.
Tecumseh girls soccer will face Blissfield at home Monday afternoon at 5pm.
