The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced the Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon, with Ava Lazzareschi of the Adrian College women’s lacrosse team being named defensive player of the week.
The senior defender led the Bulldogs during a 1–1 week, highlighted by a 20–8 victory at Capital. She recorded six ground balls and two caused turnovers across the two contests.
Lazzareschi and the Bulldogs will be back in action Wednesday at 4PM as they host Augustana.

The ACHA announced the All-Tournament Team for the Men’s Division 1 Tournament on Monday.
The Adrian College ACHA Men’s Division 1 hockey team had three members earn First Team All-Tournament honors, one member earn Second Team honors, and two earn Honorable Mention status.
Leading the way on First Team are goalie Peyton Trzaska, defenseman Cale Strasky, and forward Sebastian Smith.
Earning Second Team honors is forward Eli Reimer. Forward Matteo Turrin claimed Honorable Mention along with forward Hunter Allen.
Adrian finished the season with a 32-7-2 overall record on the year and was the National Runner-Up in the ACHA Men’s Division 1 National Tournament.

The Adrian College acrobatics and tumbling team came up short over the weekend, falling to Trine University, and dropping their record to 1-3 on the season.
Adrian will look to rebound in their final meet of their season Saturday as they host Concordia University Wisconsin at a 12PM start time.

The Adrian College ACHA Women’s Division 1 hockey team opened pool play at the National Tournament over the weekend with a pair of tightly contested matchups…losing both in overtime.
In their opening game against eventual national champion, Midland University, a defensive battle unfolded. Graduate student Rieley Jessie-Gerelli stopped 51 of 52 shots in the 1-0 overtime defeat.
Adrian returned to the ice the next day against 11th ranked University of Massachusetts-Amherst. The Bulldogs lost, again in overtime, 2-1. Jessie-Gerelli made 40 saves in net.
AC finished their season 19-15-2 overall.

Adrian College Athletic Director Craig Rainey announced a change at the helm of the Adrian College ACHA Women’s Division I hockey program on Monday afternoon.
Head coach Brendan Ramboer has resigned after two seasons. Maddy Nolan has returned as the program’s new head coach.
Nolan returns to Adrian after a successful playing and coaching career within the program. A former ACHA Women’s Division I student-athlete, she earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science while also gaining coaching experience as a volunteer assistant with the ACHA Women’s Division II team and as an assistant with the ACHA Men’s Division II program.
Following graduation, Nolan was named head coach of the ACHA Women’s Division II team.
After leaving Adrian, she remained active in the sport as a Regional Manager for Perfect Hockey Utah and as the owner of Say No More Hockey Company LLC.
Nolan will begin her duties with the ACHA Women’s Division I program immediately.
