Congratulations to Hudson’s Alexis Swanson for taking home an individual girls bowling state championship over the weekend.

The Adrian Maples boys swim and dive team won the Southeastern Conference Championship at Jackson High School.
The 200 Medley Relay team of Kade Opsal, Noah Judson, Ian Baker, and Lucas Zeckner took home first place.
Opsal also won the 50 Free and 100 Backstroke.
Lincoln, Chelsea, Jackson, Tecumseh, Pinckney, and Ypsilanti followed Adrian in the SEC Championship standings.

The MHSAA Girls Basketball tournament got underway Monday night, with four area teams tipping-off Monday in Dundee. John Koehn called two games for 96.5 The Cave…
Ella Salenbien broke Adrian’s single season rebounding record of 266 rebounds, set by Rhonda ‘Moorehead’ Hubbard in 1979. She now holds all three of Adrian’s rebounding records as she broke the Single Game and Career records earlier this season.

Britton-Deerfield girls basketball earned a playoff win Monday over Ann Arbor Central Academy, 36-18. Dotson and Delmotte each had 10 for the Patriots.

The Clinton girls basketball team is moving on in district play after downing Sand Creek Monday night, 33-14. Addison Loftis led the Redwolves with 9.

Lenawee County was well-represented on the Tri-County Girls basketball first and second team.
Morenci’s Emersyn Bachelder, Evelyn Joughin, and Colbie Ekins all earned first team honors. Brynn Davis from Lenawee Christian also appeared on the first team.
London Schmid and Hattie Fansler from LCS were all Tri-County second team…along with Morenci’s Addyson Valentine.

The Tri-County Conference announced their all-league boys basketball teams.
Jaxon Salenbien from Lenawee Christian, Alex Anspach from Britton-Deerfield, and Talan Kruse from Morenci were all voted onto the first team.
Dan Scrupsky from LCS, Liam Roe from BD, and Andon Sutherland from Sand Creek were on the all Tri-County second team.

Adrian College NCAA Women’s Hockey senior forward Riley Johnson entered elite company over the weekend, earning her 50th, 51st, 52nd, and 53rd points on the season…and her 100th career point.
Johnson’s 53 points this season is 5th most in program history for a single-season…13 behind the record set by Kristin Lewicki in 2016-17 with 66 points.
Her 100 career points put her just outside the top 10 in program history…needing 9 more to crack the top 10 list. Johnson spoke with Cave Sports after the Bulldogs’ 5-0 win over Lake Forest College Saturday…
Adrian College will face St. Norbert College at 3pm Saturday afternoon in the Slots Cup Championship on home ice. The game will be broadcast on 96.5 The Cave.

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced the Athletes of the Week, with three Adrian College Bulldogs being honored.
Alysia Townsend from the track and field team, Jenna Allie of the women’s lacrosse team, and Taylor Gerhardt of the softball team were all recognized.

The Adrian College NCAA softball team bounced back on Monday by sweeping its doubleheader to move to 2-2 on the season.
With the help of two complete games by their starting pitchers, the Bulldogs defeated Wentworth, 12-0, before topping Wartburg, 9-3.

The Adrian College women’s lacrosse team continued its strong start to the season on Monday afternoon, rolling past Warner, 20–6, to improve to 4-0 overall.
Jenna Allie led the offensive surge with five goals, while Kacie Woodall added four goals and three assists for a team-high seven points.
