
Mequon, WI – The Adrian College NCAA women’s hockey team earned a key three points in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association thanks to their 5-2 road victory over Concordia University-Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon.
The start of the game favored the Falcons, who were coming off a series-opening 6-3 win Friday night. CUW led 1-0 after the first period. The Falcons found themselves up 2-0 early in the second frame, but the Bulldogs responded in a major way, scoring four unanswered goals in the period. Emma Simon, Julie Richarson, Maddie Loe, and Courtney Ben found the back of the net for AC.
There was one score in the third period, and it was Simon’s second goal of the contest less than one minute into the stanza. Vanessa Ruban got the start in goal Saturday and made 17 saves to earn the win.
The victory for Adrian College puts them back on top of the NCHA standings by one point heading into the final series of the regular season. 96.5 The Cave will be with AC Friday, February 13th in Angola, Indiana, as the Bulldogs (18-5, 15-1 NCHA) battle Trine University (7-12-2, 3-10-1 NCHA).
