Adrian, MI – Here are the local stories from Friday’s Inside the Cave Sports Update…

The Tecumseh High School Boys Swim and Dive Team grabbed a road win against Pinckney Thursday, 98-77.

Tecumseh had four first place finishes including the 200 yard Medley Relay Team of Sam Warren, Lucas Gray, Max Husband, and Trent Fahle; Trent Fahle in diving; The 200 yard Freestyle Relay Team of Sam Warren, Loris DeFore, Max Husband, and Brayden DePew; and Lucas Gray in the 100 yard Breaststroke.

Tecumseh’s next meet is scheduled for Thursday January 15th, at Ypsilanti High School at 6pm.

The Sand Creek girls basketball team fell to Erie-Mason, 38-17. Nichelson led the way for the Aggies with 5.

The Onsted girls basketball team continued their winning ways on Thursday, downing Hillsdale 58-29.

Hannah Hill led the Wildcats in scoring, with 22 points. Karlie Kimerer had 17 for the Cats.

The Hudson Tigers girls basketball team won their third game in a row Thursday night, taking down LCAA foe Clinton on Thursday, 51-41.

Taylor Kopin led the charge with 19 points and 6 rebounds, while Ryen Rogers added 11 points, and 5 rebounds. Elci Rogers chipped in 10 points for the Hudson girls, who are back at home on Tuesday against Ida.

The Madison girls basketball team defeated Dundee on Thursday, 34-23. Parish had 12 points to lead the Trojans in scoring.

Blissfield girls basketball defeated Ida, 52-21. Braun had 15 to lead the Royals, Wyman and Scharer each had 11.

Britton-Deerfield girls hoops fell to Whiteford, 52-19. Dotson had 8 to pace the Patriots.

The Blissfield Royals boys bowling team rolled to a decisive victory on the road over Hudson, 29-1.

Alex Kudlac threw games of 244 and 266. Jon Cheney rolled a 235 and 267. Collin Retter had a 211 and 200…with Preston Iffland throwing a 201.

The Royals head to the Madison Baker Bash on Saturday morning at 9.

The Adrian Maples bowling teams swept SEC for Jackson on Thursday.

The boys won their match, 20.5 to 9.5. Notable Maple scores were Aiden Voelkle’s 200 and Blake Probst’s 179.

The girls won their match 17-13. Scores of note were Anna Saunders’ 169 and Brandi Darr’s 140.

The Madison boys and girls bowling teams picked up victories against Onsted on Thursday.

The boys swept the Wildcats, 30-0.
Bently Richard had a 216 and 203
Hayden Downard threw a 210 and 207
Raymond Ayling contributed a 211 and 193
And Grayson Hill fired a 201

The girls squeaked past Onsted, 16-14, winning by a total pin count of two.
Paige Underwood had a 187 and 162
Angelina Alvarez threw a 171

The Adrian College NCAA men’s hockey team traveled to Trine University on Thursday night for a non-conference matchup, falling 4-1 to the Thunder.

Adrian struck first late in the opening period, when Nathaniel Bannister and Ian Amsbaugh assisted on a goal by Lucas Deeb, sending the Bulldogs into the first intermission with the advantage.

Trine responded in the second period with two goals to take a 2-1 lead heading into the third. The Thunder added two more goals in the final period to pull away for the 4-1 win.

Despite the result, Adrian held a significant edge in shots, outshooting Trine 41-21 on the night.

Ryan Piros got the start in goal for the Bulldogs and recorded 17 saves.

Adrian will travel to Plymouth tonight for an exhibition matchup against the USA U18 National Team Development Program, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Adrian College men’s basketball team earned their first home win of the season Wednesday afternoon, knocking off Kalamazoo College 77-55.

The Bulldogs will host Calvin University in MIAA play on Saturday at 3pm.
