Hudson vs Madison Girls Basketball Saturday night

The Lady Tigers dropped an LCAA matchup with Madison last night, falling 54-31, despite strong effort and hustle for all 32 minutes.

Macayle Grayer led the way with 9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Taylor Kopin added 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal, while Cassidy Frantz chipped in 5 points.

Elci Rogers finished with 4 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 1 steal, Sam Anderson had 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal, and Maci Godfrey added 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists.

The Lady Tigers head into Christmas break with a 1-3 record and will look to get back in the win column when they return to action January 6th at Whiteford.

Lenawee United SEC conference, matchup on Saturday night at the Biggby Coffee Ice Cube

The Ann Arbor Huron River Rats hosted Lenawee United for an SEC conference, cross-division
matchup on Saturday night at the Biggby Coffee Ice Cube in Ann Arbor.

Colton Nicolai (Jr., Tecumseh HS) got the start in net for Lenawee United.

After a back and forth first few minutes of the game, Ann Arbor Huron would take a 1-0 lead at the 12:00 minute mark in the first period. That score remained the same heading into the first
intermission. Ann Arbor Huron outshot Lenawee United 13-5 in the period.

Lenawee United would tie up the game at the 14:48 mark when Kennedy Heise (Fr., Tecumseh HS) would score her first goal of her high school career on a terrific rebound shot. Luke Tanner (So., Tecumseh HS) would be awarded the assist. Ann Arbor Huron would pick up two more goals shortly thereafter to make the score 3-1 in favor of Ann Arbor Huron midway through the second period.

Lenawee United would go on the power play after an Ann Arbor Huron penalty. Jack Tessier (Jr.,
Onsted HS) would net his 3rd goal of the season on a beautiful pass from Zeke Smart (So.,Adrian HS). Ann Arbor Huron would remain a player down, and Lenawee United would again take advantage of their power play opportunity when Briggs Kern (So., Onsted HS) went the length of the ice and found the back of the net with his 10th goal of the season to tie the game at 3-3 with about three minutes to go in the second period. Ann Arbor Huron would pick up one more goal before the end of the period and take a 4-3 lead heading into the break. Lenawee United would outshoot Ann Arbor Huron 14-10 in the second period.

Lenawee United would come out flying in the third period and stymied Ann Arbor Huron on multiple scoring chances early on with great defense from all the players.

Final shots on goal were Ann Arbor Huron with 38 and Lenawee United with 3о.

Lenawee United’s next game is on Tuesday, December 23, when they travel back to Ann Arbor, MI to take on East Kentwood at Yost Ice Arena on the campus of the University of Michigan. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 PM. Lenawee United will also play on Monday, December 29, and Tuesday, December 30, at Yost Ice Arena for a holiday hockey showcase. Both of those games are scheduled for a 6:00 puck drop.
