Adrian, MI – Here are the Lenawee County highlights from Thursday’s Sports Update on Inside the Cave…

In Division two postseason volleyball action, Tecumseh swept rival Adrian Wednesday. Emma Eldred had 12 kills, Lily Gnodtke had 30 assists, Riley Harrah and Addi Zajac had 7 kills apiece. Maddie McFarland contributed 6 kills and 5 blocks for the Tribe.

The Madison Trojans beat Chelsea 3-1, and will face Tecumseh in the District Championship game Thursday at 6pm in Adrian.

In Division three action, the Clinton Redwolves defeated Whiteford Wednesday, 3-1. Clinton will face Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central Saturday at 10am at SMCC.

Hudson advanced over Onsted, and will play for a district title against Hanover-Horton Friday at 6pm at Hillsdale.

In Division four district volleyball action, the Lenawee Christian Cougars swept Morenci at home, and will face Summerfield Friday at 6pm. Brynn Davis had 35 assists for LCS, along with 4 aces, 6 kills, and 6 digs. Hattie Fansler contributed 17 kills & Ava Feick had 11 kills. Leah Sherman had 19 digs for the evening.

Addison’s season came to a close after being swept by the Summerfield Bulldogs Wednesday night.

The Lenawee County high school basketball coaches preview shows for the girls and boys teams will take place over the course of two Sundays in November.

Skytech Sports Bar in Adrian will host both events, set for the 16th and 23rd from 10am-1pm on both 96.5 The Cave and Lenawee TV.

Four Lenawee County football teams are still alive in the MHSAA postseason.

The 10-0 Hudson Tigers will host the 8-2 White Pigeon Chiefs in District Finals action Friday at 7pm. Ian Wendt and Fred Smith will have the call for 95.3 WQTE.

The 9-1 Adrian Maples will host the 7-3 Fenton Tigers Friday night at 7. John Koehn will be on the broadcast for 103.9 WLEN and wlen.com. The winner will be crowned district champions.

The 8-2 Clinton Redwolves will hit the road Friday night at 7 to battle 8-2 Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central Falcons in district finals play. Join Josh Rielly and Cory Cox for all the action on 96.5 The Cave and 9 6 5 the cave dot com.

The 9-1 Britton-Deerfield Patriots are the lone Lenawee County team playing Saturday. They will be home against the 9-1 Deckerville Eagles in Regional championship action beginning at 2pm.

Adrian College men’s soccer saw its postseason run come to an end Wednesday night, falling 4–1 to top-seeded Hope College in the MIAA Semifinal at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

Hope opened the scoring early when they found the back of the net in the third minute. The Flying Dutchmen controlled much of the first half, outshooting the Bulldogs 10–0, but held only a 1–0 advantage at the break.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 59th minute. Adrian’s Kyle Jennings buried a shot in the 75th minute to make it 2–1, giving the Bulldogs life late in the match. Prior to the match, Jennings and defensemen Dominic Kretschmer were named to the All-MIAA second team.

Hope converted on a penalty kick, and tallied a late goal to make the final score 4-1. Goalkeeper Eli Sizemore, recording six saves on 26 Hope shots.

Adrian finishes their season with a 6–13–1 overall record and a 3–3–1 mark in MIAA play.

The Adrian College Rowing team finished their fall season in Chattanooga Tennessee at the Head of the Hooch Regatta.

The event is rowing’s second largest fall regatta and hosts over 180 teams from over 40 states in over 2,200 events.

Leading the results was a 5th place finish in the Men’s Open 4-by. The men topped the timesheets for collegiate entries in the event besting crews from Michigan State University, Vanderbilt and North Carolina.

The men’s team also had a tremendous performance from the Championship Single entrant, Lorenzo Diez-Canseco. Lorenzo Finished 11th overall and was the 3rd fastest collegiate entry.

This event was filled with elite level competition, with rowers from Auburn, Florida State, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt.

The Adrian College women’s volleyball team headed to Kalamazoo College for a midweek MIAA contest…pulling off a five-set win.

Megan Feldmann, who led the team with 14 kills, and Virginia Rowan, who added 13. Emma Leinberger set the tone offensively with 39 assists.

On the defensive end, Leinberger led the way with 19 digs, followed closely by Rainie Atherton and Amelia McCombs, who each tallied 17.

The Bulldogs return home to end their regular season on Saturday to celebrate Senior Day against Albion College. First serve is set for 1PM.

Adrian College Bulldog women’s basketball team is getting set to tip-off their season Saturday on their home floor.

Siena Heights women’s soccer midfielder Chelsey Chambless was named All-WHAC First Team while Kailey Lambert and Sydney Eads were recognized on the Second Team, as announced by the league on Wednesday.

Freshmen Jenna Moeller and Madison Balf were selected to the 2025 WHAC All-Newcomer Team. Senior Alyssa Naso was honored on the WHAC Champions of Character Team.

Academic All-WHAC honorees from the Saints include Eads, Lambert, Maya Ruffles, Genevieve Ihns, Ruthie VanSkiver, Reagan Fennelly, Madison Verhaeghe, Kierra Thompson, Cassie McNatt, Hannah Rose, Gianna Whitney, Emma Harden and Maddie Chronister.

The Siena Heights Saints men’s basketball team lost their season-opener at home against Grace Christian, 75-73.

George Kalatzis led SHU with 19 points in the contest. Nick Sobush chipped in 18 for the Saints. Siena Heights will host rival Adrian College on November 12th for the final time…and battle for the Milk Jug.

The game will be broadcast on 96.5 The Cave, with the women’s game tipping off at 6pm, and the men to follow at around 8pm.
