Adrian, MI – Here are the highlights from the Inside the Cave Sports Update from Tuesday…

In Lenawee County boys soccer action on Monday…

Adrian dropped their match to Chelsea, 4-1. Nate Wojcik scored the Maples goal. Nolan Wood collected 4 saves.

The Blissfield Royals lost to Dundee, 6-1. Noah Sills had the Blissfield tally, assisted by Skyler Kimple.

Onsted picked up an LCAA win over Hillsdale, 2-0.

Tecumseh lost to SEC White opponent, Ypsilanti Community, 2-0.

Clinton soccer picked up an LCAA win Monday, defeating Ida 2-1. Ronan Stelzer and Broden Manchester scored for Clinon in the victory.

Adrian boys tennis beat Milan on Monday, 5-3.

Clinton Redwolves girls golf team hosted their second annual Clinton Redwolves Invitational, at Rustic Glen Golf Club over the weekend.

Divisions 1 through 4 were featured on the day. Saline and Carlson tied atop the event…leading to a tiebreaker, which was ultimately won by Saline.

Davidson was next on the leaderboard, followed by Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard, Ann Arbor Greenhills, Clinton, Bedford, Madison, Davison’s second team, and Onsted.

Clinton was led by Kierra Fivenson, who took a fifth place overall finish. Redwolves will head back to LCAA play, hosting a jamboree at Rustic Glen Golf Club on Wednesday.

Siena Heights linebacker Clarke Hamilton was named Mid-States Football Association Mideast League Defensive Player of the Week by the league thanks to his performance in Saturday’s win over Saint Francis Illinois.

Hamilton totaled 11 tackles, including two sacks, and had the game-sealing fumble recovery during the 24-21 victory.

Hamilton also stepped into his secondary role during the Saints’ victory, taking over long-snapping duties over the final three quarters after Siena Heights’ primary snapper went down with an injury.

The Adrian College men’s golf team opened MIAA conference play on Monday afternoon, competing in the first Jamboree of the season.

The event, hosted by Albion College, was held at Marshall Country Club. The Bulldogs posted a team score of 304, placing them third overall after the opening round of conference competition.

Jack Vogel led both Adrian and the entire field, carding an impressive 69 to finish at 2-under par for the day. He totaled six birdies and shot a 33 on the back nine to claim individual medalist honors.

Mason Gurney added a top-10 finish for the Bulldogs, tying for eighth with a round of 75. Carter Klawonn followed with a 79, while Michael Shubeck and Jaden Eggers each shot 81.

The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday, September 25th, when they head to the Medalist Golf Club for the second MIAA Jamboree of the season.

The Adrian College bass fishing team delivered a strong performance at the Major League Fishing event held Sunday on the Potomac River in Maryland. Competing against a field of 42 boats, the Bulldogs placed three teams in the top five.

Ryan Kahut and Brady Osborn led the way, claiming first place. Close behind, Braylon Eggerding and Brady Pinwar secured second place. Derek Rodriguez and Nicholas Seitz rounded out the top finishes for Adrian, earning fourth place.

AC now boasts six teams qualified for the upcoming MLF National Championship. The qualifying teams are:

The Bulldogs’ next competition is set for September 20th and 21st at Kentucky Lake in Paris, Tennessee. The MLF National Championship is scheduled for Spring 2026, with an exact date still to be announced.
