Adrian, MI – Here is the Lenawee County high school sports portion of Monday’s Inside the Cave Sports Update…

The Tecumseh High School Girls Swim & Dive Team competed in the Southern Michigan Interscholastic Swim League Relay Meet on Saturday at Adrian High School, along with Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, Adrian, and Bedford.

This meet has 2 official Relay Events…200 yard Medley and 200 yard Freestyle… and the rest are for fun. The final scores were Bedford 362, Adrian 316, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 296, and Tecumseh 230.

Tecumseh’s first place finish was earned by the 4×25 yard Freestyle Relay of Ingrid Bergman, Sophia Grygo, Ciel Stolberg, and Aubree Barkway

Tecumseh’s next meet is scheduled for Thursday against Pinckney at the Pinckney High School Pool at 6pm.

The Adrian Girls Swim team also took on Chelsea in an SEC White meet over the weekend, dropping the contest, 103-83.

Emma Pino, Ella Salenbien, Allison Marks, and Abby Meyers all had first place finishes. Salenbien and Pino each earned State Cut times.

The Maples 200 Medley Relay team of Michele Coy, Ella Salenbien, Emma Pino, and Alli Marks won the event and earned a State Cut time.

The Tecumseh Volleyball team captured the Mason Invitational title on Saturday.

Tecumseh went 3-0 in pool play, defeating Sturgis, Bath, and Loy Norrix, and secured the number 1 overall seed going into bracket play.

Tecumseh then went on to defeat Jackson Northwestern in the quarterfinals, Columbia Central in the semis, and finally Mason in the finals. The Indians did not drop a set all tournament.

Stat Leaders were: Emma Eldred, Lily Gnodtke, Chloe Bullinger, Maddie McFarland, and Riley Harrah.

Tecumseh improves to an overall season record of 19-1

Adrian boys soccer beat Jackson Northwest 2-0. Both tallies scored by Nate Wojcik…with one assist by Santiago Bernal.

Nolan Wood had 4 saves for Adrian high in the win. The Maples improve to 6-2-1 on the season.

Clinton and Tecumseh boys soccer tied over the weekend, 1-1.

Conor Lobenherz scored the Redwolves goal to open the scoring early. The Indians tied up the score with 17 minutes left in the contest. Clinton’s Aiden Blom made 14 saves. The Redwolves play again today at 5:30 against Ida at home.

On Saturday, the Redwolves Cross Country teams traveled to Harrison Lake State Park for the Fayette Eagle Cross Country Invitational.

The boys team finished 8th of 19 teams competing. The girls were shorthanded this week due to injuries, so they did not have a team score.

Grace Farrell led the girls placing 26th. For the boys, Haiden Bennett medaled, finishing 14th with a personal best time. The team next races at Ella Sharp Park in the Jackson Invitational on Saturday.

The Britton-Deerfield Patriots boys cross country team competed in the Fayette Invite over the weekend. Andrew and Donavan Calvert placed in the top 80…with Andrew finishing 68th and Donavan finishing 75th.

The Blissfield boys and girls Cross Country teams ran at Harrison State Park in the Fayette Invitational…with the girls team securing a victory.

Hope Miller won the event, followed by teammate Hailey Sills in second. Anna Hallett, Natalie Benitez, Revan Ricker, and Mollie Yeager all finished in the top ten for Blissfield.

The Hudson Tigers boys cross country team placed 27th at the Spartan Invitational on Friday. Freshman Blake Aube led the team in 72nd place.

The girls team placed 26th with Senior Annabelle Czeiszperger leading the way in 33rd place.
