
Adrian, MI – Here are the highlights from Tuesday’s Inside the Cave Sports Update…

Lenawee Broadcasting Company and Adrian College have extended their partnership ahead of the 2025-26 athletic calendar. 103.9fm WLEN and 96.5fm The Cave will once again carry dozens of Adrian College sporting events.
WLEN will feature all ten Adrian College football games this year, with Ian Wendt back on the play-by-play. 96.5 The Cave will carry the majority of the other contests, including hockey in the winter, and baseball/softball in the spring.
The agreement includes play-by-play coverage of many other sports on campus, such as soccer, volleyball, ACHA hockey, and Lacrosse. The partnership includes over a dozen playoff games between fall, winter, and spring sports.
The AC All-Access Show, hosted by Ian Wendt, will return to Mondays at 7pm, with the first show set for August 25th.

Kerry Carpenter homered in a three-run sixth inning and the Detroit Tigers rallied for a 6-3 win over the Minnesota Twins on Monday night.
Wenceel Pérez and Dillon Dingler also homered for the Tigers, while Ryan Jeffers, Trevor Larnach and Matt Wallner had homers for Minnesota.
Detroit has won six of its last eight games since losing 12 of 13. The Twins have lost five of six.
Casey Mize (10-4) picked up the win, allowing three runs in six innings while Kyle Finnegan pitched the ninth for his second Tigers save. Noah Davis (0-2) took the loss in relief.
Pérez tied the game with a two-run homer in the fifth. Javier Báez scored the tying run in the bottom of the sixth and Carpenter followed with a 437-foot home run to right to make it 5-3. Dingler’s solo homer in the seventh gave the Tigers a three-run lead.
The teams play the second of a three-game series on Tuesday night, with Tigers RHP Chris Paddack (4-9, 4.77 ERA) facing Minnesota RHP Zebby Matthews (2-3, 5.67). Paddack has started two Tigers-Twins games this season, losing both as a member of the Twins. He was traded to Detroit on July 28.

The Toledo Mud Hens defeated the St. Paul Saints 4-1 in Sunday’s series finale. The Hens relied on five different pitchers and only allowed three hits in the victory. Toledo wore special Kids Day jerseys in front of a sellout crowd of 9,000-plus.
Recently acquired by the Detroit Tigers in a trade with the Minnesota Twins, Randy Dobnak made his Mud Hens debut against his former squad.
