Adrian College’s Jessica Schmidt has been honored by the IWLCA… one of 1,286 student-athletes from 201 institutions on the 2024–25 Division III Academic Honor Roll.
To earn a spot on the list, student-athletes must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Schmidt is currently pursuing a degree in Athletic Training.

The women’s NCAA volleyball team was tabbed for the 2025 AVCA Team academic award for their success in the classroom as a squad.
Volleyball programs from across the country continue to prove their dominance off the court as 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball teams maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale to earn the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award.

The American Baseball Coaches Association has recognized Adrian College with the Team Academic Excellence Award…for the fourth consecutive year.
To qualify, teams must be led by a head coach who is an ABCA member, and maintain a minimum cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The Bulldogs achieved a team GPA of 3.13 for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Toledo Mud Hens dropped game two of their series against the Indianapolis Indians on Wednesday, 9-6.
Jace Jung went 2-3 with a home run, two RBI’s, a double, and two walks.
The Hens will look to bounce back in game three of the series tonight at 7:05.

Spencer Horwitz hit his first career grand slam and Bailey Falter matched a career-high with eight strikeouts to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 6-1 win and sweep of the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday.
Horwitz drove a two-out cutter from Troy Melton 416 feet to centerfield to make it 5-0.
Andrew McCutchen opened the scoring in the first with his ninth homer of the season.
Lasting five innings in his major league debut, Melton allowed six runs and seven hits with seven strikeouts and two walks.
Matt Vierling provided Detroit’s lone run with a single in the seventh that scored Spencer Torkelson. The Tigers have lost nine of their last 10 games.
Reese Olson will try to stop the bleeding tonight in Toronto against the red-hot Blue Jays to open a four game series.

The Detroit Lions announced that they are welcoming Detroit Tigers TV play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti and Detroit Lions Radio Analyst & Lions Legend offensive lineman T.J. Lang to the Detroit Lions Preseason TV Broadcast Team.
The crew will be composed of play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti; analyst T.J. Lang; and sideline reporter Dannie Rogers.
