
Adrian, MI – Madison, Sand Creek, and Adrian baseball and softball teams competed Saturday in Adrian in the Maple Invite. The local coaches submitted their results, and here is how the tournament played out:

The Madison Trojans baseball team defeated Adrian 3-2 and Sand Creek 11-1 to capture the Maple Invite Saturday.
Kason Snyder earned the win for the Trojans, allowing one earned run despite not giving up a hit over five innings. Cole Grof collected the save for Madison.
Brian Dopp led the Trojans at the plate, with three hits in four at bats. Grof and Cameron Barber each collected multiple hits.
Cameron Barber drove in four runs on three hits to lead Madison past Sand Creek.
Norman Frederick earned the win on the hill, allowing two hits and one run over three innings, striking out two and walking five.
Brian Dopp, Caiden Randall, and Elliott Beagle each collected multiple hits for the Trojans, who improved to 19-4 overall. Madison plays Dundee Tuesday.

The Adrian Maples baseball team went 1-1 at their home invite, losing to Madison 3-2 and defeating Sand Creek 13-0.
Game 1 the Maples lost a close game to Madison by the score of 3-2. Julius Robichaud and Gary Kemerer pitched for the Maples. Adrian only mustered two hits in game one… by Joelden Griffin and Landon DeKeyser.
In game 2, Robichaud went 3-4 with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs. Joelden Griffin was also 3-4, adding in a double and 4 RBIs.
Joelden Griffin got the victory on the mound going 5 innings striking out 9 and allowing 3 hits.

The Sand Creek baseball team went 0-2 in the Adrian Tournament, losing to the host school and Madison.
Game one versus Madison was an 11-1 loss for The Creek. Offensively for the Aggies, Ivan Wilkinson was 2-for-3 with a triple. SC left 11 runners on base.
Game two versus Adrian, Sand Creek lost 13-0. Andon Sutherland was 2-for-3 with a double. Wilkinson had a two-bagger as well.
The Aggies are now 12-12 on the season, and will host Tri-County Conference leader Whiteford Wednesday at 4pm.

The Sand Creek Aggies softball team won the Adrian Tournament by defeating Madison 6 to 3 in game 1 and the host Maples 4 to 3 in game 2. In game one, Makenna Wheeler picked up the win in the circle giving up 3 runs… 1 earned… on 9 hits with 6 strikeouts.
Offensively, Maddie Osburn had 2 hits including a 2 run homerun. Makenna Wheeler added a hit and 2 RBI’s. In game 2, Hawkins earned the win giving up 3 runs…1 earned… on 3 hits with 7 strikeouts.
Offensively, Wheeler delivered the big hit with a 2 run homerun in the top of the 6th to give the Aggies a 1 run lead. Makayla Six added 2 RBIs.

Madison softball dropped both games in the Adrian Maples Invitational. Olivia Schmitz was the pitcher of record in game one’s 5-3 loss to Adrian, throwing six innings, and allowing one earned run with 9 strikeouts. Gracie Nieto was 3-for-4 at the plate, and Zoey Bringman finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.
For Madison in the game two 7-3 loss to Sand Creek, Kalexiana Wrest was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
