Adrian, MI – The four best teams from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association from both softball and baseball will play this week for a right to play in the NCAA postseason tournament.
Both teams from Adrian College punched their MIAA tournament tickets, with the baseball team grabbing the #2 Seed and Softball snagging the #4 Seed. AC baseball will host #3 Seed Hope College this afternoon at 4pm. 96.5fm The Cave will broadcast that matchup, with Ian Wendt on the call. Regardless of their result today, AC will travel to Kalamazoo Thursday and Friday for a continuation of the double-elimination tournament. Kalamazoo won the MIAA regular season title, and will be the host school on Thursday and Friday. The Hornets will play #4 Seed Alma College this afternoon.
On the softball side, Adrian College will play a familiar rival Trine University in their first round game Thursday at 11am. The Bulldogs are the #4 Seed and the Thunder took the top seed in the tournament. #2 Calvin University and #3 Hope College are in the other bracket. The softball tournament is also a double-elimination event, scheduled for Thursday, May 9th and Friday, May 10th. All games will be in Algona, Indiana.
