High jumper Emma Valentine earned her fourth consecutive All-American honor as the Siena Heights women’s track and field team wrapped up its indoor season at the NAIA Championships.
Valentine tied for fourth with a height of 1.69 meters. Teammate Morgan Lutton tied for 13th at 1.61 meters. Savannah Richmond competed in the 5,000-meter run, placing 14th.

The Adrian College NCAA women’s hockey team won the Slaats Cup on Saturday afternoon, earning an automatic bid to the national tournament, thanks to an overtime goal by Hunter Reardon.

The Bulldogs were victorious, 4-3 over St. Norbert College on home ice. Paige Pomerleau, Ava Mattaliano, and Hannah Markovich also scored for AC…who avenged an overtime loss to the Green Knights in the title game last season.
Defenseman Kaylee Simon, Pomerleau, and Reardon earn the Planet Fitness in Adrian Three Stars of the game.
The team is headed to Wilkes University for the First Round of the NCAA Division 3 National Tournament. AC is currently 24-5 on the season.
Wilkes sits at 24-1-1 on the season and was the regular season and tournament champions of the Middle Atlantic Conference. The winner of the First Round game between Adrian and Wilkes will advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals and head to Nazareth… who received a first round bye.

Head coach of the Adrian College men’s basketball team, Tim Kaiser, has stepped down from the position.
Athletic Director Criag Rainey said, “We would like to thank Coach Kaiser for his hard work and dedication to our program over the last few years. We wish Tim the best of luck in his future as he pursues new opportunities with his fiancé.”
Kaiser started at Adrian College as the assistant coach before being named acting head coach during the 2020-21 season. Kaiser has since served as head coach of the Bulldogs for five full seasons and has appeared in the MIAA Tournament five times.
Adrian College will begin a search for a new men’s basketball coach immediately.

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced the Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon…and the list included four Bulldogs. They were: Abby Malone of the women’s lacrosse team, Michael Shubeck of the men’s golf team, Rachel Fay of the women’s golf team, and Taylor Gerhardt of the softball team.

Individual wrestlers from Lenawee County represented their schools well at Ford Field in Detroit over the weekend, showcasing their abilities and bringing home hardware.
The Hudson Tigers earned the most first-place finishers, with Jaxton Kimling, Royce Beal, Nicholas Sorrow, Colt Perry, and Beckett Campbell earning top honors. Hudson’s Liam McClain and Wyatt Kimble finished runners-up, with Chase Clark and Devon Brigman taking third place.
The Clinton Redwolves sent several wrestlers to Detroit as well, with Bryce Randolph earning his second career state championship. Gradyn Whelan took second. Cliff Jones was third, Zach Taylor took 4th, Tanner Bolton was fifth, and Braxton Randolph secured 7th place for the Redwolves.
For the Adrian Maples, Micah Blaker earned a third place finish, and John Breckel finished fourth.
Blissfield’s Jude Rosas was runner-up in his weight class, and Madison’s Paul McClure took 7th place.

The Hudson Tigers and Onsted Wildcats Competitive Cheer Teams were at the MHSAA finals over the weekend, with both teams finishing in the Top 5. The Tigers claimed fourth place, while the Wildcats took Fifth in Division four.

Adrian and Tecumseh individuals competed at the MHSAA state finals over the weekend in Gymnastics.
Adrian’s Haylee Vore was 24th in Vault, 20th in Bars, 39th in Beam, tied for 24th in Floor, and tied for 22nd in All-Around.
Tecumseh’s Olivia Atkin took 23rd in Vault, tied for 21st in Bars, tied for 40th in Beam, tied 43rd in Floor, and 36th in All-Around.
Also, Tecumseh’s Isabella Janiga finished tied for 7th in Bars, tied for 5th in Beam, 22nd in Floor, and 4th in All-Around.

The Adrian College women’s wrestling team was represented by two student-athletes at the NCAA Championships as Carleigh Czerneski and Mia Gaetjens competed against the nation’s top talent at all three division levels.
Both wrestlers earned All-American status for their efforts at the national tournament.

The Adrian College men’s lacrosse team used a big second-half surge to defeat Otterbein University, 14–9, on Friday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. Braeden McNamara led the Bulldogs with a game-high six goals.
Alec Winegar capped off a hat-trick nearing the end of the fourth quarter. In goal, Josiah Karnehm anchored the Bulldogs defensively with 21 key saves off of 30 shots on goal.

The Adrian College track and field team traveled to Ada, Ohio, to compete at the Polar Bear Final Qualifier hosted by Ohio Northern University.
For the men, KJ Scott started the day by again breaking his own school record in the weight throw.
Another school record fell on the women’s side. Bridget Waterstradt broke Emme Koutz’s 3,000-meter run record. Alysia Townsend placed fifth in the high jump and second in the long jump. Madaline Goldmeyer placed third in the 400-meter dash.
The Bulldogs are now preparing for the outdoor season.

The Adrian College men’s tennis team completed its Spring Break trip to Florida…losing to St. Scholastica, 6-1 and Transylvania University, 5-2.

The Adrian College women’s tennis team concluded the trip to warm and sunny Florida.
The Bulldogs faced off with St. Scholastica and came away with a 6-1 victory before dropping the final match to Transylvania, 6-1.

Siena Heights men’s runner Kyler Pequet finished his indoor season at the NAIA Track and Field Championships taking place at the Alachua County Sports and Events Complex.
Pequet competed in the 600-meter run, placing 16th. On the women’s side, Bailey McCulloch took 24th in the 600-meter run at the same event.

The Siena Heights baseball team played a non-conference series at Cumberland, Tennessee, dropping four contests over two days.
Scores were 25-0, 15-2, 18-7, and 5-3 in six innings. The fourth game was called early due to rainy conditions.

The Siena Heights men’s lacrosse team dropped a 12-7 contest to non-conference opponent William Woods on Saturday.
Sean Jablonski led the offense with three goals and two assists while Joey Keck tallied two goals. In goal, Alyx Walker totaled 16 saves.
