Siena Heights women’s pole vaulter Emma Stewart won the national championship on Thursday during day-one action at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Stewart entered the event as the number one seed and held her position, winning the overall event via tiebreaker. Stewart tied two other vaulters at 4.05 meters.
Stewart’s sister Kathryn Stewart also competed at Nationals, tying for 20th.

The Siena Heights men’s 4 by 800-meter relay team finished up indoor competition with a 16th-place finish at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
The Saints’ group included Blake Schroeder, Henry Frederick, Tyler Landis and Kyler Pequet.
Also… Kolby Masserant was sixth-best in the field in the 60-meter dash.

Dylan Vazquez scored his first collegiate goal as the Siena Heights men’s lacrosse team suffered a 21-1 loss to non-conference opponent Benedictine.

The Adrian College softball team played another doubleheader in Florida on Thursday…dropping two close contests.
The Bulldogs started the day against Illinois College falling 10-8 in the battle before another comeback came up short against Marian University, 8-6.
