The Blissfield Royals boys bowling team captured the sports’ first state championship in school history over the weekend, and Alex Kudlac won an individual title.

The Hudson boys wrestling team beat LCAA rival Clinton 50-15 over the weekend to win their fifth consecutive state championship, and 8th out of the last 10 years.
In the process Hudson Head Coach Scott “Scooter” Marry earned his 983rd victory against 216 losses, making him the winningest coach in MHSAA Wrestling history.
Marry talked about the support he receives from the Hudson community…
The Tigers have multiple individuals set to take the mat this weekend at Ford Field in Detroit.

Two Lenawee County Competitive Cheer Teams advanced to States over the weekend… the Hudson Tigers and Onsted Wildcats.

The MHSAA girls basketball playoffs begin tonight, with District play set to tip-off at 5:30pm.
96.5fm The Cave will be in Dundee for both first-round games. In Division 2… Dundee will face Ida at 5:30pm, then Adrian will take on Milan at 7pm. John Koehn will be on the call for those contests.
The winner of the Dundee-Ida game will play defending state champion Tecumseh Wednesday at 5:30pm. Madison will play the winner of Adrian-Milan Wednesday at 7pm.
In Division 3, at Quincy, Hudson will play Wednesday at 5:30pm against the winner of Quincy-Hillsdale tonight.
In Division 3 play at Onsted, Clinton will play Sand Creek tonight at 7pm. Blissfield awaits the winner on Wednesday…tip-off set for 5:30pm. Also at Onsted, the host Wildcats will play Brooklyn-Columbia Central at 7pm Wednesday.
In Division 4 at Summerfield, Britton-Deerfield will battle Ann Arbor Central Academy at 7pm Monday. The winner will face Lenawee Christian Wednesday at 5:30pm.
In Division 4 at Jackson Christian, the Morenci Bulldogs will play Addison Wednesday at 5:30pm.

Five different Bulldogs scored, Kiera Stack had a 17-save shutout, and the Adrian College NCAA women’s hockey team advanced to the Slaats Cup Championship game thanks to their 5-0 win against Lake Forest College Saturday night.
Emma Simon, Paige Pomerleau, Hunter Reardon, Courtney Ben, and Riley Johnson all found the back of the net for AC. Simon’s goal came just 33 seconds into the game, and Johnson earned her 100th career point in the victory.
Head Coach Chad Davis had this to say after the game…
We will hear from Riley Johnson in a future sportscast. AC will face St. Norbert College Saturday at 7pm for the Slots Cup Championship.

The Adrian College NCAA men’s hockey team lost 6-2 in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Harris Cup Semifinals against Aurora University.
The Bulldogs outshot the Spartans 34-27. Seniors Brad Somers and Anthony Mollica scored for AC, who will have to wait a week to learn of the NCAA playoff fate.

The Adrian College track and field team traveled to Trine University to compete in the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Conference Championships.
The men finished sixth out of eight teams, and the women’s team finished fifth out of eight teams.
KJ Scott broke his own school record in the weight throw, placing second at the meet. Jaymes Vines paced second in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash.
Alysia Townsend won the long jump and took second place in the high jump.
The Bulldog track teams will travel to Ohio Northern University this weekend to compete in the ONU Last Chance Meet.

The Adrian College men’s wrestling team competed in the NCAA Division III Central Regional over the weekend hosted by John Carroll University.
As a team, the Bulldogs placed 13th after scoring 39 points.
Aiden Smith was named a Regional Champion after going 4-0 in the 165-bracket. This marks the second Regional Championship for Smith in his career.
Smith punched his ticket for the NCAA Division III National Championships March 13th-14th in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The Adrian College men’s lacrosse team used a dominant third quarter to break open a tight contest and secure a 13-7 victory over Wittenberg University on Saturday at the Sweebe Family Athletic Center.
Adrian was powered offensively by Tecumseh’s Trace Tidswell, who netted four goals. Braeden McNamara added three goals and an assist, while Austin Selvage recorded a four-point performance on two goals and two assists. Alec Winegar chipped in two goals and an assist in the victory.
Defensively, goalkeeper Josiah Karnehm stopped 22 shots. The Bulldogs improve to a 1-4 overall record and will travel to Denison Tuesday at 7 PM.

The Adrian College women’s lacrosse team continued its strong start to the season on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 20–5 victory over New College of Florida to improve to 3–0 on the year.
Madeline Turcotte led the way with a dominant performance, scoring six goals and adding an assist. Kacie Woodall finished with four goals and three assists, while Mariana Miller also netted four goals and chipped in an assist.
Jenna Allie had two goals and two assists, and Skylar Donaldson added two goals. Three goalkeepers combined for four saves in net… Emerysn Alberts, Chloe Martin and Bella Norton.

The Adrian College men’s volleyball team put together a dominant Saturday at the Merillat Center, sweeping both Maranatha Baptist University and Hiram College in straight sets to cap off a perfect day on their home court.
With the two sweeps, the Bulldogs now improve to a 6-9 overall record and look to keep rolling on March 10th as they host Greenville at 7PM.

Siena Heights University baseball team earned a four-game split against William Penn, Iowa.
After losing games one and two, 20-2 and 13-3… the Saints rallied for 7-3 and 6-5 wins in games three and four.
