Adrian, MI – These are the Lenawee County stories from the Inside the Cave Sports Update Monday morning..

The MHSAA high school wrestling postseason continued over the weekend, with individual districts taking place.

Wrestlers from Hudson capturing district titles were: Nicolas Sorrow, Colt Perry, Beckett Campbell, Wyatt Kimble, Owen Loop, Devon Brigman, Malachi Marshall, Jaxton Kimbling, Royce Beal, and Liam McClain.

Clinton wrestlers winning districts were: Cliff Jones, Bryce Randolph, Gradyn Whelan, and Hudson Miller.

Adrian’s John Breckel and Micah Blaker took home district championships this weekend. Addison’s Caden Olsofsky won a district title as well.

On the girls’ side… Hudson’s Grace Miller won a district title.

Team regional semifinals and finals are set for the middle of this week. Onsted will wrestle state-power Dundee at Ida on Wednesday in Division Three. The winner will face the winner of Ida versus Grosse Ile, also on Wednesday night.

In Division Four at Perry High School, Hudson will wrestle Hanover-Horton…with the winner facing either Perry or Springport.

Also in Division Four, in Capac, Clinton will take on Clarkston Everest Collegiate…with the winner facing either Capac or Manchester.

The Siena Heights basketball teams played on the Coach Fred Smith Court one final time on Saturday.

Siena Heights women’s track and field delivered a powerful multi‑meet weekend across three states, highlighted by event sweeps, NAIA qualifying marks and major field‑event victories.

At the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge, sprinter Terria Fisher won the 60 and 200 meter runs, while Jenna‑Ann Johnson backed her up with runner‑up finishes in both races. Bailey McCulloch won the 600.

In the field, Fisher earned a third podium with third in the long jump, while Akiyah Ash claimed second in the shot put.

At the Centre Indoor Invitational & Multis, Siena Heights swept the top spot in two vertical jumps. Emma Valentine won the high jump, while Emma Stewart won the pole vault.

At the GVSU Big Meet, Savannah Richmond placed second in the 5000 for Siena Heights.

The Siena Heights men’s indoor track and field teams competed at three venues over the weekend, heading to the WHAC vs MIAA Challenge at Aquinas, the Grand Valley State Big Meet and the Centre Invitational and Multis.

Siena Heights stacked wins and podiums at the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge, led by Zander Goodwin’s 60‑meter hurdles title and a closing victory in the 4×400 relay with Jacob Buchanan, Henry Frederick, Tyler Landis and Kyler Piquet.

Buchanan also won the 800, while the Saints dominated the 1000 behind Blake Schroeder, Pequet and Frederick.

Logan Smith took bronze in the 400 and advanced in the 60, and Calvin Randolph grabbed triple jump runner‑up.

At the Centre Invitational & Multis, Jeremiah Bullis placed third overall in the heptathlon and authored event highlights with a win in the heptathlon 1000, a co‑win in the heptathlon pole vault, and second in the heptathlon 60H.

The Siena Heights baseball team opened up its 2026 season with a three-game series at sixth-ranked Cumberlands, dropping game one Friday, 19-0, before falling twice on Saturday, 11-1 and 12-2.

The Adrian College NCAA men’s hockey team concluded its regular season Saturday night with a road loss against Trine University, 3-2. Devyn Orpana and Brad Somers scored goals for the Bulldogs.

AC won the NCHA regular season title on Friday night, and will head into the conference playoff Friday and Saturday afternoon at home against Lake Forest College. The game will begin at 2pm, and will be aired on 96.5 The Cave.

The Adrian College NCAA women’s hockey team closed out the regular season Saturday afternoon with a win over Trine University, 5-1.

The victory secured the NCHA regular season championship for the Bulldogs, who will begin conference playoff action Friday and Saturday night at 7pm against Trine University. Both games will be aired on 96.5 The Cave.

The Adrian College men’s volleyball squad lost in three sets to St. Norbert on Saturday at the Calvin Quad.

The Adrian College men’s basketball team hosted Alma College on Saturday afternoon in a must-win game to keep MIAA Tournament hopes alive. The Bulldogs did just that, beating the Scotts, 92-72.

The Adrian College men’s wrestling team competed at the annual Mid-States Invitational, hosted by Alma College.

Rickey Lynch took third at 165 pounds. Also at 165, Paden Gordinier placed eighth.

At 174 pounds, Angelo Mastroianni claimed eighth place. Benjamin Grenesko rounded out the Bulldogs’ placers at 197 pounds, finishing seventh.

Adrian College men’s wrestling are back in action on Saturday where they will host their annual Futures Tournament at 11 AM.

The Adrian College women’s lacrosse team kicked off their 2026 season on Saturday afternoon where they welcomed Ohio Northern University inside Sweebe Family Athletic Center… coming out on top 20-9.

The Adrian College men’s lacrosse team opened up their 2026 season falling to Kenyon College, 15-8, on Saturday afternoon also at Sweebe Family Athletic Center.
