Adrian, MI – Here are the Lenawee County highlights from Monday’s Inside the Cave Sports Update…

The Tecumseh High School Girls Swim & Dive Team competed in the Southeastern Conference White Division Championship Finals this weekend at the Jackson High School Pool, finishing in 4th place.

Chelsea won the conference championship, followed by Jackson and Adrian. The Indians finished ahead of Lincoln, Pinckney, and Ypsilanti.

All-Conference finishes were earned by Kellie Fahey, Ciel Stolberg, and Madison Betz.

Tecumseh will compete in the SMISL Championship Meet at Groves High School on Saturday November 15th.

Two Lenawee County football teams hoisted District Championship trophies Friday night, with the Hudson Tigers and Clinton Redwolves moving on to Regional play. The Adrian Maples and Britton-Deerfield Patriots saw their season’s end at home.

Hudson pulled away from White Pigeon in the second half, winning a high scoring game 50-20. The Tigers will host Springport Friday night at 7.

Clinton went on the road and upset St. Mary Catholic Central 22-14. The Redwolves will play at Millington Saturday at 1pm.

The Tecumseh Indians volleyball team will be in Regional action Tuesday at 7pm against Battle Creek Harper Creek in Charlotte. The winner of that match will face either Parma Western or Niles at 6:30pm at Charlotte High School on Thursday.

The Lenawee Christian Cougars volleyball team will be in Regional action Tuesday at 7pm against Hillsdale Academy at Summerfield high school. The winner would play either Lansing Christian or Camden-Frontier on Thursday at 6pm at Summerfield high school.

Clinton Redwolves volleyball lost their district championship match over the weekend 3-1 against Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central.

Hudson Tigers volleyball also fell in district championship play this weekend, losing 3-0 to Hanover-Horton.

The Adrian College women’s wrestling finished 19th out of 40 teams at the Adrian College Invite this weekend. AC had three top-ten finishes.

Sophomore Mia Gaetjens took third place, while graduate students Carleigh Czerneski and Taylor Cutler took sixth place in their weight classes.

The Bulldogs will be back in action November 23rd as they hit the road to Pennsylvania, for the East Stroudsburg Duals.

The Adrian College women’s basketball team opened their 2025–26 season in dominant fashion on Saturday, rolling past Hiram College with an 84–53 victory at home.

Morgan Babb led the charge with a double-double, scoring a team-high 18 points and pulling down 13 rebounds. Aubrie Ickes added 14 points, four rebounds, and two assists.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday, where they will travel to cross-town rival Siena Heights University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM. Listen to the game on 96.5fm The Cave.

The Adrian College men’s basketball team competed in the championship game of the Oberlin Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday, where the Bulldogs came up short in a high-scoring 106–92 battle against Franciscan University.

Luke Rager led the Bulldogs with a team-high 25 points, adding seven rebounds and five assists. Seth Logan followed closely with 23 points, six boards, and two assists.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday, where they will travel to cross-town rival Siena Heights University at 8PM. The Milk Jug is up for grabs for the final time. Listen to the game on 96.5fm The Cave.

The Adrian College NCAA men’s hockey team wrapped up its road series with Marian University, winning 8-1 to complete the weekend sweep.

The Bulldogs move to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in NCHA play. Eight different skaters scored in the game, with Nolan Suggs picking up the win in net.

Adrian returns to action on the road this weekend, when they travel to Aurora University.

Allie Hubenschmidt scored a shorthanded goal in the first period, Ava Mattaliano scored in the second, Kiera Stack earned her second consecutive shutout, and the Adrian College NCAA women’s hockey team completed a sweep of Marian University Saturday…winning 2-0.

Adrian returns to action this weekend, when they host Aurora University.

The Adrian College football team closed out its 2025 home schedule in dominant fashion on Saturday, defeating Trine University 44–21.

The Bulldogs trailed 21-7 in the first quarter, then erupted for 37 unanswered points.

Adrian quarterback Noah Beaudrie set the program record for passing yards in a game, with 436, completing 36 of 47 passes. Beaudrie had six total touchdowns…three through the air and three on the ground.

Dundee sophomore Braiden Whitaker finished with 13 receptions for 190 yards and a touchdown, and Ethan Abberger had 15 catches for 161 yards and two scores.

On defense, Liam Karry led the way with 10 solo tackles, a sack and two forced fumbles.

The 8-1 Bulldogs will look to secure a share of the MIAA title Saturday, when they travel to Alma College for their regular-season finale. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.

The Adrian College women’s volleyball team closed out their season, dropping their senior day match with Albion in three sets.

Kayla Chan led the Bulldogs’ attack with five kills. Emma Leinberger paced the offense with 15 assists. Rainie Atherton anchored the back row with nine digs.

The Bulldogs wrap up their season with a 2–19 overall record and a 1–7 mark in MIAA play.

The Siena Heights women’s soccer team lost to top-seeded Northwestern Ohio, 3-1, in the WHAC Tournament semifinals.

Parker Cheney would score the Saints’ only goal in the waning seconds of the 90th minute, assisted by Makayla Raynor. Sydney Eads totaled five saves.

The Siena Heights men’s bowling team hosted the final Halo Classic on Saturday, and it was one to remember. Not only did the Saints have three top-five bowlers, but the team also won the event outright.

Logan Cook and Jack Sisco took first and second place, respectively.

The Siena Heights football team suffered its first MSFA Mideast loss, dropping a 42-28 contest to Taylor on Saturday.

Quarterback Braylen Himmelein threw for 298 yards, completing 20 of 33 passes, with three TD’s and three interceptions.

Kendrick McBride had two touchdown receptions. Quest Williams had the other TD grab. On defense, Jalen Edwards and Clarke Hamilton had 10 tackles apiece.

Joe Nemecek had a forced fumble and an interception for the Saints.

The teams were never more than one score apart until Taylor broke a 21-all tie with 21 straight points in the fourth quarter. SHU will wrap up their season at home Saturday against Indiana Wesleyan at 12pm. Listen to Saints football on 96.5 the Cave.

The Siena Heights women’s basketball team held off Olivet Nazarene for an 85-84 victory in non-conference action Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Lauren DeWolf led the 2-0 Saints in scoring with 31 points while E’Moni Finch totaled 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Jam Thigpen had her second straight double-double with 12 points, 16 rebounds and three steals.

Siena Heights will host cross-town rival Adrian for a 6 p.m. contest Wednesday night. Catch the action on 96.5 the Cave.

The Siena Heights women’s volleyball team outlasted Defiance for a 3-2 victory during WHAC action Friday night.

Devyne Eisenhauer led the Saints with 23 kills, 19 digs and five blocks. She planted four kills in the decisive fifth set.

Courtney Johnson made 30 assists and finished with 18 digs. Mya Krohn led the back-line with 32 digs. Siena Heights will wrap up its regular season on Saturday with a 2 p.m. WHAC match at Lourdes.
