Holland, MI – The Adrian College men’s soccer team will be on the road tonight in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament Semifinal round.
The Bulldogs earned a home quarterfinal game thanks to their 4th place finish in the regular season standings. AC defeated 5th-seeded Kalamazoo College 2-1 on Saturday, November 1st. Bryan Baker scored a first half goal for the Bulldogs, assisted by Kyle Jennings. AC scored off of a KZOO own-goal early in the second half. The Hornets lone goal came on a penalty kick in the 68th minute.
The win advances Adrian College (6-12-1, 3-3-1 MIAA) to the semifinal round at top-seed Hope College (10-5-2, 6-0-1 MIAA). Tonight’s game will be at 6pm, with Ian Wendt on the call for 96.5fm The Cave and 965thecave.com. The other semifinal match will be at Albion College, where the 2nd-seeded Britons will host 3rd seed Calvin University.
Adrian senior forward Kyle Jennings leads to Bulldogs in every offensive statistic including goals (5), assists (tied-1), and shots on goal (18). Jennings was recently named to the All-MIAA second team. Sophomore goalkeeper Eli Sizemore has played in 18 games for the Bulldogs, allowing 2.06 goals against per game, 70.6 save percentage, three shutouts, and a 6-11-1 record.
