Siena Heights Univ. & Adrian College Collect Road Wins

Adrian, MI – Both Lenawee County college football teams secured victories on the road this weekend, with the Siena Heights University Saints hanging on for a 28-20 win at Defiance College, and Adrian College handling Kalamazoo 34-7.

Gwilly Punt Return TD Sparks Saints in Road Triumph…

The Siena Heights football team stayed unbeaten in MSFA Mideast League play with a 28-20 victory at Defiance on Saturday.

Numehnne Gwilly had an 83 yard punt return touchdown to open the scoring. His second punt return score ties Gwilly with the Reggie Blackmon (2012-15) for most punt return TD’s in a career at SHU.

Braylen Himmelein completed 19 of 24 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns. Both of those scoring strikes were to Credell Prather, who had eight grabs for 108 yards. Fellow receiver Tendaji Alexander finished with four catches for 98 yards.

On defense, Jalen Edwards led the way with nine tackles, including two for-loss. Clarke Hamilton added eight tackles while Markel Main and Joe Nemecek came through with seven apiece.

Kieran Jackson had an interception and Joshua Mack added a sack. The Saints will return to play Saturday, Nov. 8, with a 1 p.m. MSFA Mideast game at Taylor.

Bulldogs Intercept Four Passes in Convincing Road Win…

The Adrian College football team continued its strong season with a dominant 34-7 road win over Kalamazoo College on Saturday afternoon…sending their record to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.

Ethan Burrows had two interceptions, giving him seven on the season. Koronnis Davis and Liam Karry each recorded one as well. Adrian’s defense forced one fumble, and got the recovery. Coach Palka remarked that they were well-timed takeaways…

 

Wide receivers Braiden Whitaker and Ethen Abberger combined for 26 catches and 230 receiving yards and three TD’s on the afternoon…

The Bulldogs return home to Docking Stadium on Saturday for Senior Day against Trine University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Coach Palka talked about the upcoming matchup with the Thunder…
