Adrian, MI – Below are some of the highlights from Wednesday’s Inside the Cave Sports Update…

The Lenawee Christian Cougars boys soccer team defeated Manchester on Tuesday, 8-0.

Max Stamats had a whopping 7 goals. Zyan Breznik had the other one. Brecken McCardy had two assists. Pierson Cousino and Dan Knoll each had single assists.

Zyan Breznik had four saves. Micah Jameson had two. The Cougars are 5-6-1 and play at Michigan Center on Saturday.

The Madison Trojans volleyball team won a tight 4-set match to Blissfield on Tuesday. Royals stat leaders for the game were:

Leigh Wyman: 17 kills and 24 digs
Grace Nieman: 8 kills
Layla Gilbert: 7 kills and 3 blocks
Brooklyn Fetzer: 22 assists
Eva Wilson: 34 digs

Adrian boy’s tennis fell to Ann Arbor Skyline 5-3 Tuesday…with the single lineup grabbing a few wins.

The last regular season match is Monday against Columbia Central… then Regionals at Detroit Country Day on October 8th.

The Adrian Maples volleyball team fell in four sets to Chelsea on Tuesday.

Ella Salenbien led the way, tallying 13 kills, 10 assists, and 12 digs. Addy Martolock added 12 kills and 8 digs. Edynn Eichorn anchored the defense with 18 digs.

Adrian will play Dundee on Thursday. The Maples are now 2-2 in the SEC, and 9-12-1 overall.

The Adrian swim team defeated Dundee, 106-78. Individual 1st place finishers were Abby Meyers, Ella Salenbien, Reese Beauleaux, Emma Pino, Michele Coy, and Allison Marks.

The 200 Medley, 200 Free, and 400 Free Relays took 1st place for the Maples.

The Lenawee Christian Cougars volleyball battled hard against Whiteford on Tuesday night, falling in five sets.

Leah Sherman led the defense with 27 digs. Hattie Fansler led the offense with 14 kills followed by Ava Feick with 10 kills & 9 blocks, and Brynn Davis contributed 24 assists & 2 aces.

LCS will play Erie Mason on Thursday.

Tecumseh volleyball defeated SEC White foe Lincoln on Tuesday in three sets.

Stat leaders for Tecumseh:

Emma Eldred: 14 kills, 8 digs, and 4 aces
Lily Gnodtke: 31 assists and 9 digs
Morgan Malinczak: 11 digs

Tecumseh improves to 30-1 on the season.

The Adrian College women’s golf team competed in their second MIAA Jamboree of the season, finishing seventh.

Savana Smith led the Bulldogs with a round of 79, tying for ninth overall. Sami Burks followed closely with an 81, tying for 11th. Ainslee Hewitt and Kennedy Kehres each carded an 84, while Rylie Yuhas rounded out the lineup with a 93.

AC returns to action on Monday at Gull Lake Country Club for the third MIAA Jamboree.

The Adrian College women’s volleyball team opened MIAA conference play at home against the University of Olivet…falling in straight sets to the Comets.

Offensively, Virginia Rowan led the charge for Adrian with six kills, while Kayla Chan added five of her own. Emma Leinberger stepped up to lead the offense, recording 14 assists on the night.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday, where they will take a trip to Alma to face the Scots at 6:30pm.

The Adrian College men’s soccer team came up short on Tuesday night, falling 1-0 to unbeaten Ohio Northern.

The Bulldogs battled hard defensively, with goalkeeper Eli Sizemore standing tall between the posts, recording six saves on 19 Polar Bear shots.

The decisive moment came in the 63rd minute, when Ohio Northern converted to give the hosts the lead.

With the result, Adrian drops to 2-9 overall. The Bulldogs will be back in action at home to start conference play hosting Olivet October 7th at 7pm.

Adrian College quarterback Noah Beaudrie has been named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week after his performance Saturday at the University of Olivet.

He threw for 396 yards and four touchdowns on 22 completions, while also adding 20 rushing yards on eight carries.

Beaudrie becomes the 44th player in program history to be named to the D3 football dot com National Team of the Week, and the first quarterback in Adrian history to receive the honor.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, when they host Albion College at 1PM. Catch all the action on 103.9 WLEN and wlen.com with Ian Wendt and Shawn Witmer.

The Siena Heights women’s golf team competed in the WHAC Fall preview on Monday and Tuesday…placing tenth.

Brooke Strand led the Saints, placing 30th out of 52 golfers. Isabella Vincent tied for 35th, Abby Campbell tied for 40th, while Chloe Zeolla finished 42nd.

The Saints will return to action on Tuesday at the Cleary Cougar Invitational.
