The Adrian maples football team won a defensive battle at Lincoln Friday night, 3-0…earning their 4th win on the season against just one loss.

It was a walk-off field goal that gave Adrian the dramatic win. Here is John Koehn with the call on 103.9 WLEN…

The Redwolves Cross Country teams traveled to Lake Erie Metropark to participate in the Marauder XC Invitational over the weekend.

For the girls race, the medalists were Josslyn Handy and Grace Farrell. In the boys race, medalists were Haiden Bennett and Austin Strand.

This coming week will be LCAA Jamboree #2 hosted by Clinton at Riverbend Friends Church on Wednesday… and the Hudson Booster Invitational on Saturday.

Tecumseh went 5-0 at a tournament at Haslett High School on Saturday… and won each match in straight sets to come home as the champions.

Tecumseh defeated East Lansing, Madison, Williamston, Columbia Central, and Parma Western. Stat Leaders for Tecumseh:

Lily Gnodtke: 85 assists, 17 digs, 11 kills.
Emma Eldred: 29 kills, 27 digs, and 6 blocks
Morgan Malinczak: 17 digs and served 32 for 34
And Riley Harrah: 33 kills and 34 digs

Tecumseh Improves to 29-1 overall and plays home on Tuesday vs SEC White opponent, Lincoln.

The Adrian Cross Country teams ran in the Stockbridge Invitational Saturday. The boys finished 1st of 22 teams led by Moises Salazar who won the race.

Other notable finishers were Parker Smith in 10th, Carter Fenner in 17th, Easton Coscarelli in 23rd, and Landin Fisher.

The girls finished tied for 4th out of 17 teams. They were led by Ayda Skeels who was 3rd, Madison Petty in 4th, and Karina Mahai-Grammes in 11th.

The Britton Deerfield Patriots sent cross country runners to the Stockbridge Invitational over the weekend.

For the BD boys… Andrew Calvert placed 119th, Donavan Calvert placed 138th, and Logan Hilyard placed 165th.

The Lenawee Christian Cougars volleyball team hosted the Cougar Quad this weekend…going 2-1 on the day. LCS beat Sand Creek and Hillsdale Academy…but lost to Hanover Horton in three sets.

Brynn Davis surpassed 1,000 career assists.

Davis had 62 assists during the quad, adding 11 kills & 17 digs. Hattie Fansler had 39 kills, followed by Ava Feick with 18 kills, and Hannah Acuña Holloway & Gigi Masters each with 10 kills. Leah Sherman also contributed 10 aces and 40 digs.

The Onsted Wildcat Cross Country runners were at the 31-team Stockbridge Invitational over the weekend.

The girls combined for a 10th place team finish, and the boys were 9th.

Two girls who were medal winners were Raegan Brosamer 26th, and Emma Grulke in 48th. In the varsity boys race, Chris Durfey was 22nd and Nick Holmes finished 27th, earning each a medal.

The Wildcats run again Wednesday in the second LCAA Jamboree in Clinton.

The Siena Heights women’s volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Rochester Christian on Saturday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

The Saints will return to competition Wednesday with a 7 p.m. WHAC contest at Indiana Tech.

Saturday afternoon, the Siena Heights men’s soccer team fell to WHAC conference opponent Madonna 4-1.

Lucca Martinez scored the Saints’ only goal in the 31st minute of the match. Siena Heights goalie Yuriy Tukalevskyy recorded a total of 3 saves.

SHU will return home to play against WHAC Conference opponent Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday.

The Siena Heights women’s soccer team lost to WHAC conference opponent Madonna Saturday, 1-0.

The Saints were in a defensive stalemate until they let up a goal in the 88th minute. SHU goalie Sydney Eads recorded a total of 4 saves.

The Saints will resume play against WHAC Conference opponent Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday.

Logan Cook took the top spot of the singles leaderboard as the Siena Heights men’s bowling team opened its season at the WHAC Jackson Open.

Cook bowled 3-game scores of 246, 217, and 232. The Saints took Sixth place out of twelve teams.

The Saints will return to the lanes this Saturday at the Midwest Collegiate Classic.

The Siena Heights football team dropped a 37-29 contest at Olivet Nazarene on Saturday.

Kick returner D.J. Young became the first SHU football player with two kickoff-return touchdowns in a career, having returned both kicks this season. The Saints will return to play Saturday when they host Judson during Homecoming Weekend.

The Adrian College cross country team competed at the annual Siena Heights Invitational, where both the men and women finished ninth overall.

The women’s race opened the day, with Lily Etelamaki leading the Bulldogs across the line in 28th place.

On the men’s side, Beau Shaffer paced the Bulldogs with a 56th-place finish.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, where they will travel to Grand Rapids to compete in the Calvin Knight Invite.

The Adrian College women’s volleyball team traveled to Bluffton University this past weekend to compete in a two-day tournament, where they battled against Bluffton University and Baldwin Wallace University on Friday, followed by Hanover College and Heidelberg University on Saturday.

The ‘Dawgs dropped all four contests on the weekend.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday, where they will host The University of Olivet inside the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center at 6:30 PM.

The Adrian College women’s soccer team came up just short on Sunday afternoon, dropping a 1-0 decision at Baldwin Wallace University on the road.

Between the posts, goalkeeper Katelyn Stanton recorded five saves.

The Bulldogs fall to 3-6-1 on the season and will look to bounce back Saturday as they start conference play, hosting Kalamazoo College for a 6 pm kick off.

The Adrian College men’s soccer team hosted the College of Wooster on Saturday afternoon at Docking Stadium, where the Bulldogs came up just short in a hard-fought 1-0 battle.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday, where they will head to Ada, Ohio and take on the Polar Bears of Northern Ohio University.

The Adrian College football team stayed unbeaten with a dominant offensive showing on Saturday, rolling past The University of Olivet, 59-27.

AC quarterback Noah Beaudrie completed 22-28 passes for 396 yards and four touchdowns. Ethan Abberger led all receivers with eight catches for 216 yards and one touchdown.

Braiden Whitaker added 5 receptions for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Trey Brueggemann totaled 98 rushing yards with four touchdowns, plus a 43-yard receiving score.

On defense, Ethan Burrows intercepted two passes. The Bulldogs recorded three sacks. Coach Joe Palka spoke after the game about his team’s performance…

 

Adrian College football returns home on Saturday to host Albion at 1 PM.
