Adrian, MI – Here are some of the local highlights from Thursday’s Inside the Cave Sports Update…

Clinton boys soccer continued their winning ways on Wednesday, picking up another LCAA win at home over Dundee, 3-1.

Adrian boys soccer dropped an SEC White match to Ypsilanti on Wednesday, 2-1. Nate Wojcik scored the lone Maple tally…assisted by Santiago Bernal. Nolan Wood had 8 saves for Adrian.

Several Lenawee County teams recently participated in the Second Tri-County Conference Jamboree at Erie Mason.

Erie-Mason won the boys event, followed by Sand Creek, Whiteford, and Summerfield. Erie-Mason’s Joseph Colaluca won as an individual.

Grant Rasor was the top runner for Whiteford, with a 4th place finish. Sand Creek’s Nicholas Trame ran to a 7th place finish.

Jacob Tatsak for Lenawee Christian ran to an 11th place finish. Mohamed Adow led the Morenci Bulldogs with a 12th place finish. Colin Brown paced Summerfield with a 14th place. Britton-Deerfield’s fastest runner was Donavan Calvert…who came in 28th place.

The TCC Jamboree, on the girls side, was won by Summerfield…followed closely by Sand Creek. Whiteford and Erie-Mason followed.

Whiteford’s Braelynn Chiotti won as an individual … .followed in second place by Makenzie Wolfe from Summerfield.

Sand Creek was led by Payton Steinke’s 7th place finish. Lambes Jenna from Morenci finished in 28th place.

The Clinton Redwolves volleyball team defeated Hillsdale in straight sets to continue their unbeaten run in LCAA play.

Setter Avery Loftis led the charge with 5 kills, 24 assists, and 10 digs, while fellow setter Addison Loftis chipped in with 3 kills, 10 assists, and 8 digs.

Bella Bannon had a standout night, with 15 kills. Abby Sheneman provided 6 kills, along with 3 digs and 1 solo block.

Rylee Pepper added 6 kills and 7 digs, and Makenna Gore contributed 4 kills.

Defensively, libero Brailey Gibson finished with 19 digs and 3 aces, while Calli Kruger added 9 digs and 1 ace.

The Blissfield Royals volleyball lost a five set match to the Onsted Wildcats on Wednesday.

Stat leaders were:
Leigh Wyman with 15 kills and 12 digs
Grace Nieman with 10 kills
Brooklyn Fetzer 18 assists 10 digs 5 aces
Brooke Robinson 15 assists 10 digs
And Sydney Yeager 17 digs

The Siena Heights women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with WHAC conference opponent Rochester Christian Wednesday night.

Cassie McNatt scored the Saints’ only goal in the 39th minute of the match. SHU goalie Sydney Eads recorded a total of 3 saves.

Siena Heights outshot Rochester Christian 14-9. The Saints will return to WHAC play on Saturday, as they travel to Livonia, to play Madonna.

The Siena Heights men’s soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with WHAC conference opponent Rochester Christian on Wednesday afternoon.

Yan Vasconcelos scored the Saints’ only goal in the 8th minute of the match. Siena Heights goalie Yuriy Tukaleveskyy had a busy afternoon, recording a total of 10 saves

Rochester Christian outshot SHU 26-18. Siena Heights will continue WHAC play on Saturday, as they travel to Livonia, to play Madonna

Adrian College men’s soccer jumped out to an early lead on Wednesday afternoon, but Wabash responded with two unanswered goals to hand the Bulldogs a 2–1 defeat.

Nick Miller’s first goal of the season gave Adrian the advantage in the 10th minute, cutting inside from the right before striking a shot from 24 yards out into the net.

The hosts equalized in the 39th minute after a penalty kick was awarded following a foul in the box.

Just minutes after the second half, Wabash grabbed the game-winner. Goalkeeper Eli Sizemore kept the Bulldogs within striking distance, recording three saves.

The Bulldogs will look to regroup as they continue non-conference play back at home on Saturday, hosting Wooster for a 4 PM kick off.
