Adrian, MI – Here is the Inside the Cave Sports Update from Wednesday…

Clinton Community Schools has announced the appointment of Mike Ruhl as the new head coach of the girls varsity basketball team.

Coach Ruhl has been a member of the Clinton Schools community for over 20 years, serving as a teacher and leading the varsity boys basketball program for 17 seasons, as well as spending one season at the helm of the girls varsity team. During his tenure, he amassed an impressive resume that includes:

● 4 League Championships
● 3 District Championships
● 2 Regional Final Appearances

His coaching excellence has been recognized across the state. Ruhl is a four-time Lenawee
County Coach of the Year, a Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Runner-Up Coach of the Year, the Ann Arbor News All-Area Coach of the Year, and a Michigan Associated Press Runner-Up Coach of the Year in boys basketball.

Ruhl played basketball at Hillsdale College, where he was part of the 1995 GLIAC Championship team and served as a team captain.

Coach Ruhl will begin his duties immediately as the team prepares for the upcoming 2025-26 Season.

The Adrian Maples boys tennis team fell to Chelsea Tuesday night, 8-0…their first dual loss of the season.

Adrian will look to regroup for their last SEC White match against Lincoln at home on Thursday. The Maples are 3-1-1 in Conference play.

The Adrian Maples girls swimming team was in action Tuesday night…splitting a tri-meet between Milan and New Boston Taylor Co-op.

Milan defeated NBTC 136-35…and beat Adrian 106-74. The Maples defeated New Boston Taylor Co-op 124-49.

Adrian’s Emma Pino had a new State time swim in the 200 Free.

The Siena Heights women’s volleyball team downed crosstown rival Adrian College in straight sets on Tuesday night, winning the final match between the two schools.

Set scores were 25-19, 25-17, and 27-25.

Devyne Eisenhauer paced SHU with 12 kills on the night. Virginia Rowan led the way for AC, earning 8 kills.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Friday, where they will head to Bluffton, Ohio to compete in a two-day round robin against Bluffton University, Baldwin Wallace, Hanover College and Heidelberg University.
