The Toledo Mud Hens offense only mustered one hit in their 2-0 loss to the Columbus Clippers on Wednesday night. The two teams continue their series in T-town tonight at 6:35.

Rookie Troy Melton allowed one hit in five innings and three Detroit Tigers relievers maintained a shutout of the Chicago White Sox in a 1-0 win on Wednesday.
It was a series-clinching win for the Tigers, who advanced to 70-52 and extended a narrow lead over the Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central.
The Tigers are just 11-14 since the All-Star Break, while the division-rival Guardians are 16-7 in that stretch.
Tigers relievers Sawyer Gipson-Long, Kyle Finnegan and Will Vest combined to allow one hit over the final four innings. Vest picked up his 18th save of the season.
Wenceel Pérez hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.
The Tigers head to Minnesota for a four-game series against the Twins on Thursday, with Tarik Skubal on the mound.

The agency that oversees sports gambling in Ohio says it is working with Major League Baseball on the investigation of Cleveland Guardians pitchers Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz, but had no further comment.
The Ohio Casino Control Commission said it was notified on June 30 by an Ohio licensed sportsbook of suspicious wagering activity on Guardians wagering events before also being contacted by MLB.
Clase and Ortiz are on non-disciplinary paid leave through August 31st. It was unclear if the cases are related.

The Minnesota Twins are no longer for sale, executive chair Joe Pohlad announced Wednesday on behalf of his family.
After exploring a variety of options since publicizing the sale 10 months ago, the Pohlad family will remain the principal owner of the club and add new investors instead. Carl Pohlad, a banking magnate and the late grandfather of Joe Pohlad, bought the Twins in 1984 for $44 million.
Financial analysis earlier this year by Forbes valued the franchise at $1.5 billion, ranked 23rd in MLB. Sportico and CNBC pegged the Twins higher.

Chicago Bears coach, and former Lions Offensive Coordinator, Ben Johnson sees the second preseason game as the ideal time to get quarterback Caleb Williams some on-field reps.
Williams will see game action in Johnson’s offense for the first time when the Bears host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night. Backups Tyson Bagent, Case Keenum and Austin Reed took the snaps in last Sunday’s 24-24 tie against Miami in the preseason opener.
