
Adrian, MI – For the second consecutive game, Siena Heights University women’s basketball went to overtime against University of Northwestern Ohio at the SHU Fieldhouse, but the road team picked up the win the second time around, advancing in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament.
The Saints (17-12, 14-6 WHAC) led after one quarter of play 13-9 off the strength of 5 points by Kanyla Tyler and 4 by Brooke Rebman. SHU’s Madison Vice netted 6 points in the second quarter, but Siena trailed at the half 26-25.
The Racers (20-9, 12-8 WHAC) and Saints played an even third quarter, with Tyler scoring 8 more points for Siena Heights. Rebman made a game-tying three point basket with 3 seconds left to make it 61-61 at the end of regulation. She led the Saints in 4th quarter scoring with 8.
UNOH pulled away in overtime to take the 74-66 road win. SHU’s E’Anna Won paced the Saints with 3 overtime points. Siena shot 37.1% from the field, 44.0% from three, and 60.0% at the free throw line.
