Grand Rapids, MI – The Adrian College women’s soccer team’s stand-out 2024 season came to an end on Wednesday night as the Bulldogs fell to the Calvin Knights in the semifinal round of the MIAA Conference Tournament. The #1 seeded Knights tallied three goals at home against the #4 seeded Bulldogs.
After a tight and scoreless majority of the first half, Calvin scored late in the first half. Early in the second half, the Knights tagged on another to make it 2-0. The Knights added a third goal late in the contest.
Leading for Adrian in Wednesday’s match was Kelsey Zoli who ended the night with three shot attempts, two of them on goal. In net, Gabrielle Fallon Revels made five saves and allowed three goals in the loss. In their final games as Bulldogs, Zoli, Sydney Anderson, Josie Huber, and Ellise Fries played all 90 minutes of the match. Junior Teagan Bergeron and sophomore Melanie Perhne also saw every minute of the match on Wednesday…which was broadcast live on 96.5fm The Cave.
The Adrian College women’s soccer team finished 2024 with a 12-5-1 record, along with a 5-2-1 MIAA conference record. An overall impressive season and a taste of the semifinal round will have the Bulldogs hungry for more in 2025.
