Morenci, MI – The Madison Trojans Girls Basketball team used a strong second half to come back and beat Morenci Thursday night at the Morenci Holiday Tournament, 30-27.
Madison trailed 16-6 at the halftime break, but fought back to take their first lead halfway through the third quarter. It was a back-and-forth game down the stretch, with the Trojans making key free throws in the closing minutes.
Madison defeated Onsted Wednesday night to reach the finals in a tight game as well, 39-38. Morenci took down Quincy 47-23 in the other semifinals game to reach Thursday’s championship game. Onsted beat Quincy in the consolation game Thursday, 41-25.
