Adrian, MI – It was a winning weekend for the Adrian College NCAA Women’s Hockey team in Wisconsin. Ian Wendt traveled with the team and called their games on 96.5fm The Cave.
The lady bulldogs logged well over 1,200 miles in travel over the four day road trip. Thursday night AC, ranked 8th in the country, took on 3rd ranked University of Wisconsin- River Falls.
Adrian fell behind 6-2 after 40 minutes of play…but mounted a comeback in the third. AC scored with just over five minutes left in the final frame to make it 6-5…but could not find the equalizer, and lost 7-5 after a late empty net goal by the Falcons.
Adrian returned to Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play Friday and Saturday, with a pair of games against Concordia University-Wisconsin…winning both contests comfortably, 9-1 and 4-0.
It was a massive weekend offensively for Une Bjelland. She scored 7 goals and had 4 assists in the three games. Zoe Lohrei tallied a goal and six assists. Karmen Anderson collected a goal and 4 assists.
The Bulldogs are off until they play the Italian National Team in exhibition play on December 13th and 14th.
