Hanover, Indiana – The Adrian College football team traveled to Hanover College in hopes to lock up it’s first win of the season. After being tied late in the game, Hanover scored a touchdown to secure a 21-14 win over the Bulldogs.

Adrian struck first on their opening possession on a 32-yard touchdown pass from Jack Wurzer to Kenny Kujawa. Hanover responded on their first drive with a 1-yard rush to tie the game 7-7. A goal line stand in the second quarter by the Adrian defense kept the score deadlocked heading into the locker room at halftime.

Hanover broke the tie halfway through the third quarter on an 11-yard touchdown pass. With a minute to go in the third quarter, Gage Palus got behind the defense and caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Wurzer. After multiple defensive stands by both teams, it came down to the final minute of the game. With 32 seconds remaining Hanover scored on a short touchdown pass… which would end up being the deciding score.

Wurzer finished 7-for-22 with 162 yards and two touchdowns. Steve Moses led the Bulldogs on the ground with 83 yards rushing on 17 attempts. Preston Smith recorded 103 yards receiving on three receptions.

On defense, Kyle Minder led the black and gold with eight tackles followed by seven from Tyrelle Deener, Deandre Jennings, and Brandon Kwiatkowski. Sam Madrid recorded an interception and fumble recovery on the day for Adrian.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, September 18 at home as they host Greenville, Illinois on Homecoming Weekend. The game will be on the Adrian College Sports Network, with 103.9fm WLEN carrying the radio broadcast starting at 2:45pm.
