Sand Creek, MI – Tenacious defense by the Lenawee Christian Girls basketball team was the difference as the Cougars won a district championship with a 55-30 win over Adrian Madison Friday night in Sand Creek. Madison scored 14 points in the opening quarter and only 16 for the rest of the game as the Cougars disrupted the Trojans passing lanes.
Lenawee Christian was led in scoring by the D.S. Johnson and Associates Player of the Game Bree Salenbien with 21 points. Lizzy Scharer added 10. Carly Anschuetz in her final game paced Madison with 15. Lenawee Christian will move on to Regional play at Whitmore Lake on Monday night.
