Siena Heights Kevin Rice Sr. Earns WHAC Player of the Week Honors

Adrian, MI – Siena Heights men’s basketball forward Kevin Rice (Sr. | Detroit, MI) earned the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) men’s basketball player of the week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Rice started the week leading the Saints to their first win of the 2020-21 season in a 56-54 win against UNOH on Friday night. He had a team-high of 25 points and five steals while tallying nine rebounds, one assist, and one block. He shot 11-19 from the floor and 3-5 from beyond the arc.

He followed up that performance contributing a team-high of 19 points and three assists while earning six rebounds, one steal, and one block in the 72-66 loss against Lawrence Tech Sunday afternoon. He went 8-12 from the floor, 2-4 on three-point attempts, and 1-1 from the charity stripe. He averaged 22 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 2.0 APG, 1.0 BPG, and 3.0 SPG. His field goal percentage was 61.3 and his three-point percentage was 55.6.

This is the first WHAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award of the season for the Saint program and the first of Rice’s career.

The Saints return to action this Wednesday in a conference road game against Aquinas. The game is set for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
